1 out of 5 eggsdont buy if you want your monitor to work

Pros: can't think of any

Cons: cable does not use all 15 pins which does not allow for monitor type detection. Read other reviews. I wish I had have read before purchasing.

Other Thoughts: I notified the manufacturer and this is a hassle

1 out of 5 eggsNo EDID, does not automatically detect the monitor type

Pros: Feels solid.

Cons: Does not carry EDID data, which means the video card cannot automatically detect the monitor type. Unusable in my environment, with 4 computers connected to a KVM, which requires that the cable carry the EDID data.

My 6-year-old extension cables work fine. All three Rosewill cables do not work.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

This is correct unfortunately this product does not include the EDID data.

2 out of 5 eggs14 pin cable

Pros: Decent video quality. Feels well made.

Cons: One would think a HD15 end would have 15 pins... this only has 14. Failed to extend my KVM cable and transmit mouse/keyboad data to the KVM from the dongle which has a MD15 with *gasp* 15 pins.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
14 pin VGA cables are actually pretty common now-a-days. The missing pin is going to be pin 9 which carries a 5v power connection. Many monitors today don't use this pin anymore since video cards today won't supply power to the monitor. Please contact the Rosewill support team either via phone at 800-575-9885 or via email at techsupport@rosewill.com so that we can assist you with your issue.
Thanks,
Rosewill Customer Care

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works and fills its job as a cable well. Tons of shielding.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's a VGA cable. It either works or it's broken from the factory. I got 3 and all 3 worked.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Better quality than I expected. I just wanted a cheap cable. This seems very solid.

Cons: Not very supple, but that's expected on thicker cables. Which I did not expect.

Other Thoughts: My opinion of Rosewill products is becoming more positive.

4 out of 5 eggsTitle should say this is a M/F cable...

Pros: Seems to be a good cable

Cons: Not the one I need

Other Thoughts: I'm only writing this so that no one else makes the same mistake I did (needed a M/M cable and this is a M/F cable). Yes you can see this when you look at the pictures, but it never occurred to me to look at the pictures of a cable. Whoops!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product, works fine!

Pros: Sturdy, well made, performs well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Works for the purpose it was intended for, would buy again if I needed another, and that's the best compliment you can give right?
