4 out of 5 eggsShady586 Has His Facts Wrong...

Pros: I think shady needs to check his facts before promoting himself as a DVI standard expert.

DVI-D: Digital only. Does not contain the C1-C4 pins necessary to carry an analog signal.
DVI-I: Digital and Analog. Contains the pins necessary to carry analog signals. (Usually one would use a VGA to DVI adapter for this.)

Has nothing to do with the shape of the C5 grounding pin... usually it's just a flat pin, but on some it is a "+" shape. Either way doesn't signify DVI-I vs. DVI-D on it's own.

So yes, this cable SHOULD have the C1-C4 pins for analog signals as it's advertised as such. If not then yes... I would certainly complain.

Cons: So yes, this cable SHOULD have the C1-C4 pins for analog signals as it's advertised as such. If not then yes... I would certainly complain.

5 out of 5 eggsYou guys have it backwards

Pros: DD-Computer-Repair@ you have it all backwards man. You were just unfortunately misinformed. This cable is a DVI-I cable and you needed a DVI-D cable. But instead of doing your research you went as far as to think the listing and the package itself was mislabeled before checking? Kind of careless and irresponsible to mislead people.

THIS IS A DVI-I cable... a DVI-D cable is the one with just the straight line and not the +

Cons: Just making a correction here so people don't get false info

Other Thoughts: Learn to do a little research yourself instead of strictly reading the reviews here.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Used this to run a line from my computer to tv along with a dvi-i to dvi-d adaptor. The cable is very flexible and just long enough for what I needed.

Cons: -None-

4 out of 5 eggsBe mindful of your purchase

Pros: Good quality cable. Strong connections and well protected.

Cons: Not the cable I needed to extend the video display from my graphics card to my monitor. This features an additional + sized pin, making it unusable in most video cards and monitors.

Other Thoughts: Didnt bother returning it in the event I ever need this type of connection.

1 out of 5 eggsMislabeled Product - Not DVI-I

Pros: Price was good but product was not DVI-I

Cons: Mis-packaged Product: Package Labeled DVI-I (24 + 5) but contained DVI-D (24 + 1) cable.

Other Thoughts: Web Site says DVI-I, Package Label says DVI-I but Cable was DVI-D.

3 out of 5 eggsRequires mods

Pros: Long cheap cable

Cons: You'll have to rip the analog pins out before it's usable by most vid cards / monitors.

4 out of 5 eggsDual Link DVI

Pros: It works for my purpose. Its flexible thank goodness!

Cons: However this a Dual Link wire, not a regular DVI cable like the one that came with my monitor, if your video card or your monitor does not support Dual Link DVI you may need an adapter, or get a regular DVI cable, this cable is twice the thickness of my original cable.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately I would have rather had a regular DVI cable as to this Dual Link cable, as I experienced some problems until I figured out this was not a regular DVI cable.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Cable

Pros: * This purchase will prevent you from getting robbed at radio shack
* It works great
* 15 ft. (4.8 meters) will reach any desk setup (great for dorm rooms)
*Price! top quality at NewEgg delivery

Cons: It does not install its self nor does it give massages.

Other Thoughts: *This is DVI-I (dual), with a HIGHLIGHT to that last I. Check to make sure you are not planning on attaching to a female DVI-D plug in because this has four extra pins but looks like its twin cousin. (for confusion I suggest the Wikipedia page)

*For anyone unfamiliar with DVI this is capable of BOTH digital and analog transmission (HDMI cannot do that) but does NOT send audio in any format.
