1 out of 5 eggsItem Never Worked . . ..

Pros: I'm a professional that works as PC and IT technician and purchased this kit for use when I needed it. I am sorry to say that when I needed it never worked. The rubber sleeves looked worn. Maybe I received a RMA kit. Too bad it seemed like a good idea.

Cons: At this time I cannot recommend this unit because it was DOA. I just wish that I completely tested the unit before I was unable to RMA it. This may be a good product but right now it is looking like a negative purchase. It appears from the other reviews this may be the exception and not the rule.

Other Thoughts: Seems to me that Rosewill technicians that read these reviews would contact me and offer refund or new item to review. As of now I would recommend you not purchase this product.

I will update my review based on Rosewill's response to this posting.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks flawlessly

Pros: Plug it in, turn it on, drive mounts. That's it!

-Built quality
-Includes silicone drive sleeves, the same floppy kind of thing you see for cell phones.
-Impresses friends and family, and wins points with the in-laws!

Cons: -none worth knocking any eggs off, but I'll put a couple in.
-Like anything, you end up with a couple extra cords while in use.
-Externally powered, but it's a requirement of the setup.

Other Thoughts: I consider it essential kit for anyone who does any kind of computer work, personal or otherwise. I would extend that to anyone who owns more than one computer.

-I don't recall read/write speeds, but I do remember being pleasantly surprised with read speeds. (Yeah, not worth much to you.)
-I have not tried mounting two drives at once, though it's listed as a feature. I mainly use it for pulling data off old drives (and mostly for friends and family).

4 out of 5 eggsWorks...after some work

Pros: It works, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I used it on 3 different drives to move information over the course of a day. There was hang up on a new drive I ordered, but I got that one to work as well. This initially caused a lot of frustration after reading other reviews, but I am glad I got it to work. So minus one egg.

Cons: Driver installed correctly, but I could not get my new 1 TB WD Caviar Black drive to work. It would show a connection and device under devices but drive would not turn up as a usable drive. I had thought that it might be because I had not formatted it yet. I tried several different things including looking for drivers (the cd it comes with is garbage if you don't have Windows 98, and nothing is on the Rosewill website). Turns out that it was the fact that the drive wasn't formatted, but by that time I had already connected it directly to the motherboard to format it.

I will see if it is possible to format the drive through the USB in the future, but I do not plan on replacing drives any time soon.

Other Thoughts: Hope my review helps others in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsperfection

Pros: Durable; all adapters included; the rubber molds for the drives are flawless; great price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm turning into a Rosewill fanboy. Everything I've gotten from them has been a surreal combination of the highest quality gear at smart-shopper price points. It's to the point where any time I need an item, I check to see if they make it yet. Even some free ear buds I got are awesome. Yes, I'm gushing but it's all true, I swear :P

5 out of 5 eggsLoved This

Pros: Easy to carry with you, easy to use and very durable.
Has an on/off switch which is fantastic.
Transfer speeds were as decent as they can be with a USB device.

Cons: The USB cable could have been longer.

Other Thoughts: Aside from wanting a longer USB cord everything about this piece of equipment has been great for me so far. The way that the SATA plug in is inverted into the device is perfect, this allows for extra durability. I've not had any problems with this product and would definitely recommend this to friends and coworkers.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Compatible with Raspberry Pi
Came with everything needed to get started
Works

Cons: LEDs don't need to be there

Other Thoughts: I use this adapter with the Raspbian OS as a quick & dirty way to pull data from old hard drives. It has worked without so much as a hiccup. I don't like the LEDs so I use electrical tape to cover them, but they don't deserve to lose an egg over this.
