5 out of 5 eggsimpressive

Pros: I got various lengths of this model cable to redo out server room's big components. It actually helped the throughput over many years old cat5e cables. The ping times and bandwidth testing was slightly better with these cables. They should have been replaced a long time ago since these cables are so superior.

Out of the dozen or so cables, zero were defective or nicked or covered in factory oil or grease. That sets them ahead of other brands we've gotten in the past.

Cons: These things coil like a spring and stay that way. Nothing we did would unwind these things into a straight cable. They're very thick and I doubt they'll ever be completely straight.

Other Thoughts: Even if your equipment doesn't support it officially, use Cat6 anyway. It will make your regular gigabit connections have a very slightly better connection than cat5e because of less interference and cross talk. The potential data rate and frequency throughput is higher so that means less interference and loss at lower frequencies as well.

5 out of 5 eggsCable Life

Pros: This cable is very durable and has worked for me for almost 4 years without a hiccup. The rubber casing extends over the release button for that added extra protection. Most wires are tossed to the side once that release button is broken and won't stay connected to your pc or device.

Cons: Sometime it is a pain to press down on the release button with that add rubber protection, but it's worth it know it will not snap easily.

Other Thoughts: Still going strong and color hasn't even faded or turned. Works great and for the price, It's worth buying it here and waiting those shipping days. These cables at any regular retail store will run you double the cost even if you have to pay for shipping.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Cables

Pros: Price, quality is good. Connetions feel solid. No doubt it is plugged in and will stay in. Cable itself feels sturdy.

Cons: Wound way too tight in the packaging. I now have a spaghetti monster behind my router. The cables are so stiff and wound they absolutely positively prevent my router and modem from resting in the normal position.

Attempting to straighten them caused me to question the cable sheathing. Some spots were wound so tight attempting to straighten them cause the red plastic cover to turn pink with stretching. I did not like that.
The Spaghetti Monster consumes them.

Other Thoughts: cables are cables. Not silky smooth, not perfect, but still good cables. I just wish they werent so stiff they push and pull my router and modem around.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works, great quality.

Cons: The cable had a noticeable kink in it as if it was bent 90 degrees. At first I thought it was due to carrier mishandling, but the replacement had the same damage.

Other Thoughts: I was probably just unlucky to receive two pinched cables. Newegg customer service rocks.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple and Speedy

Pros: Definitely improves speed, and looks to be well shielded compared to my older Cat 5es

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: After realizing most of my hardware is now gigabit, I was surprised to see speed improvements in the 3' Cat 6 cable I bought a few months ago. So at the price this makes an unbeatable upgrade. The 14' distance carries my router the length of my desk and over to the switch, and the second one I bought does a nice job of snaking its way over to my home server.
