5 out of 5 eggsAwesome yet (decently) cheap (cost-wise) surge protector!

Pros: - Price is very good for the benefits for these surge protectors!
- Lights on the sides individually indicate for power and grounding
- 12 outlets, four are placed for large transformers or inverters.
- Outlets have individual slide covers for safety.
- White, thin, and curvy for a nice modern look.
- Two coax cable inputs/outputs for protection
- TWO USB POWER PORTS!!! (heard these had enough voltage for charging tablets.)
- Power switch is located next to the power cord, hidden enough to where it can't be accidentally turned off, yet easily accessible for turning off.
- Has, like, four wall mounting points (holes are designed to slip on/off the head of a screw.
- I do believe it has rubber footing.
- The power cord has a pretty good length to it.

Cons: - It ain't free.

Other Thoughts: - The lights are not very bright, yet makes a very nice night-light!
- If anyone is wondering, the lights are a green color.

5 out of 5 eggsbest protection

Pros: Great protection, lots of plugs. Best yet is they ring the outside of the strip allowing full utilization of each plug. (Other vertical strip you inevitably must skip plugs because a power adapter is to large to fit another below.) Child safe slides and two USB charge ports are a great bonus. Not to mention the co-axel protecters. Nicely done by far the best surge protection I've ever owned.

Cons: May be too large for some. But works great for me.

1 out of 5 eggsToasted my devices

Pros: Green LED strip is very space-age as long as you can tolerate the brightness. Nice spacing for plugs and USB ports.

Cons: If it doesn't work, your devices are toast. And that's exactly what happened.

Other Thoughts: I had a scanner, a USB-charged bike light, an external drive, an iPhone and a USB hub plugged into this strip. At some point I noticed a funny, sickly-sweet smell that I attributed to a new filter in a nearby air purifier.

Then, one by one, the devices started to fry. The iPhone burst open. The USB hub in my MonitorMate stand (also purchased from Newegg) became erratic in recognizing devices, and its indicator light started doing strange flickers and blinks. The light on the power adapter to the external HDD was constantly on a low glow, even though the drive wasn't in use.

This supposedly "protective" device was responsible for toasting my devices one by one. I'm now out an iPhone, a USB hub, and a bike light. Thank heavens it didn't claim the scanner too.

I have high-end tech AV equipment plugged into the other Rosewill RHSP-13004 that I bought at the same time. Going to swap that out as soon as possible so I'm not out thousands of dollars — which is precisely what this surge protector was supposed to avoid. Even now, its stupid green LED strip glows with the misleading word "Protected."

4 out of 5 eggsLayout

Pros: The layout is great. I just opened the box. Twelve plugins, spread over more than a square foot of space. Four of those plugs are located on the corners, each somewhat isolated from everything else. Unlike so many other surge protector "strips", there is ROOM HERE to plug things in. Those wall warts have a place to go now, without blocking another plugin. Two rows of five plugins located centrally give you plenty of space for more traditional grounded or ungrounded plugs, with no interference from those warts. The two USB chargers are nice too - I can use them!

Cons: One side lights up, displaying the word "protected", and the other side displays "grounded". Not sure what that means - is one side grounded, and the other side is not? I sure hope both sides are both "protected" and "grounded". The on/off switch is well hidden, beside the power cord, so I had to squint at the box to find the layout legend before I could turn it on.

Other Thoughts: It remains to be seen how effective this thing is, as a surge protector. It sure is pretty, but pretty doesn't have much to do with functionality!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as described

Pros: 12 Outlets! I live in a horribly designed apartment with only one outlet in the entire room. This helped me solve that problem. It works great and a recent power surge that hit my building didn't ruin any of my electronics. I can't say for sure if this was due to the surge protector but i know it didn't hurt.

Cons: Bright green light. The green light that surrounds the surge protector is pretty annoying. I don't notice it much because this is under a desk but if I had it in plain view it would definitely bother me.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellant Product

Pros: I work for Wi-Fi Ip Cameras services to business and Residential. iggest obstacle on my way was using Powerline Adaptor only on wall outlet. Now question is how I am going to plug Powerline thingy I wall outlet but due to distance I was helpless to call off deal with customer, But after going through high prices Adaptor ,Converters I found Rosewill look satisfying my specs . It came very quick shipping . After opening and plugging my power line adaptor I found it fooled up Power line adaptor that this is not wall outlet plugged but its plugged in Rosewill power surge.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Its white all the way but green lights leds is very helpful to find if you devices plugged in working or not from leds.
2. 2 USB connection to charge any device.
3. Long enough ire with Surge Protecter.
4.Total 12 outlets for devices. Out of 12 , 4 are assigned
as Wall outlet and grounded.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away from this prouct!!!

Pros: Good while it worked.

Cons: Died after approximately six months. Specifically bought product in 09/08/2014 and today 02/26/2015 it's done. Buyers beware! Terribly short working lifetime! You get what you paid for (Don't let yourself tempted by the usual Shell Shocker $19.99 sale price). Choose another product from a better brand.

Other Thoughts: A simpler and older trusty Belkin seven outlet surge protector has lasted longer and handles heavy daily use way better than this Rosewill's 12 outlet poor product. Enough said!
