Pros: Worked OK with French keyboard, especially the <> and Alt-GR keys which other adapters typically don't support.

Cons: Sometimes, I have to un-plug and re-plug the PS/2 connector between keyboard and adapter after plugging the USB side in computer to make it work.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to other people.

Pros: This PS2-USB Adapter WORKS! I had purchased a NOS PS2 keyboard for my wife because of the feel of the keys and the reliability of a previous one. Unfortunately, the keyboard would stop working after an hour when plugged to the PS2 connection on her laptop's port replicator. The old USB keyboard worked fine. I tried an inexpensive PS2-USB adapter that had come with some product in the past, but it did not work. After reading hundreds of online reviews of other PS2-USB adapters or converters, I had just about given up. Then I saw this Tripp Lite with a bunch of good reviews on Newegg and purchased it. Problem solved.

Cons: None. Well, one. I didn't find it sooner.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased a variety of Tripp Lite products, and they seem to be one company that values quality control and their good name. All too often, low quality products are passed along to consumers for what might be called "Quality Control After Purchase" (QCAP). Then the purchaser and the vendor have to work out RMA and the like. My experience with the quality of Tripp Lite's products has been excellent so far. Thanks.

Pros: Just installed a Gigabyte mobo and only one ps2 plugin. This item plugs into a usb port and provides for both kb and mouse. Look at the reviews and many were poor. This one had good reviews and worked first time.

Pros: I've used several product of this type. Some work, some don't. This one works as advertised with an IOGEAR 4 port KVM switch.

Cons: This adapter only has to do one thing -- which it does well. So NO CONS!

Pros: Works perfectly with my new X99 motherboard and my ancient (10 years old, at least) PS/2 KVM switch, keyboard, and mouse.

Pros: - Works OK if you don't need anything but very basic typing.

Cons: - About the most complex key combination I could manage was ctrl+alt+delete
- Squirrelly with recognizing that keys are held down.
- Can't handle more than one key at once most times

Other Thoughts: Yes, I am aware of IBM Model Ms having 2KRO. I'm not using a Model M, I'm using an old Kinesis Essential, which will happily register as having as many keys pressed at once as I can manage to hit over PS/2

Now, I will note here that there is daisy chaining going on - The keyboard itself has an AT plug which is plugged into an AT to PS/2 adapter. This shouldn't be an issue; it's a passive adaption that doesn't require anything special, in fact you can cut an AT plug off and splice wires to a PS/2 connector in a pinch.

I have a PS/2 port on my own motherboard, so I know the keyboard works properly over PS/2 and supports far better than this will pass along. Plugged in via PS/2, the keyboard works great.

Over this... Well. It won't register more than two keys at a time except for ctrl+alt+delete, it doesn't like to recognize that keys are held down until you hit them twice, forget even the most basic of gaming.

This is somewhat of a problem, as my dad can only use ergonomic keyboards due to RSI, and my dad's computer does not have a PS/2 port. I was hoping to adapt the one I have, and pass it along to my dad, but this is not at all going to work for dad's needs with this thing.

Now if you have only the most basic of typing needs, this should work great. But if you do anything more than that, it's just not going to work.

I'm still giving it three stars because honestly the technology in general seems iffy, with many adapters not even working at all. I'll give this one some slack because it does actually work, it just doesn't work in a way useful to me.

Other Thoughts: I just plugged this in to a PS2 KVM tray that I got from a datacenter liquidation. For some reason, I didn't really expect it to work. Turns out it works great. As soon as I plugged it in, the OS recognized it. It even works in the BIOS. Unplugging/replugging in does not seem to require a reboot for the OS to recognize. Glad I went with the more expensive brand name in this case.

Pros: Works with PS/2 KVM Switches but you may need an additional Male to Male cable or adapter. Quality build.

Cons: Would have been nice if they included 2 Male to Male PS/2 adapters for KVM connection.

Other Thoughts: After trying a few other adapters with no success it was nice to find one that actually works. I have an older PS/2 KVM Switch but one of the PC's I have connected doesn't have PS/2 inputs. This Adapter allows me to connect the keyboard and mouse outputs of the KVM to the newer PC via a single USB connection. The only small snag is that most KVM's will have Female connectors for the keyboard and mouse as does this adaptor because it's really designed to plug the keyboard and mouse (Male connectors) directly into the adaptor so I had to use 2 short Male to Male PS/2 cables to go from the KVM to this Adapter. Not a big issue for me since I had the cables already. I still gave it 5 eggs because it was so nice to connect an adapter that actually works after trying many that didn't.
