5 out of 5 eggsHelpful

Pros: Long enough to place an internal HDD on top of the case and still reach the eSATA port in the back.

Cons: No matching SATA Power cable.

Other Thoughts: I didn't want to go through the trouble of getting an external hard drive, NAS or burn a few dozen DVDs to back up my data when I had a spare internal hard drive lying about. So I got this conversion cable, popped open my case to get power and now I back up my computer on an internal HDD that I can disconnect and carry with me.

2 out of 5 eggsThese cables suck

Pros: Cheap (You get what you pay for)

Cons: I'm by far not a newbie to building computers and handling components. These cables aren't sturdy, don't make great contact and subsequently fall out of their slots. This can corrupt data on your drives (which thankfully didn't happen).

Other Thoughts: Cables seem like a frivolous expense, but I wouldn't skimp on important connector cables like these. Spend a few more dollars to help ensure proper functioning and hard drive integrity.
