Optimized for Demanding Applications

The PDUMH15AT is designed for reliable distribution of AC power to supported equipment in IT, industrial and similar applications. It features a rugged, all-metal case, high-quality outlets, a 15A circuit breaker and a switchless design to prevent accidental shutoff. Its optional automatic transfer switching function adds hot-swap and maintenance bypass ability to standard UPS configurations.

Reliable IT Power Distribution

Unfiltered electrical pass-through makes the PDUMH15AT ideal for distributing alternate waveform UPS or generator power in rack enclosures, network closets, and more. It provides 8 5-15R outlets and dual 12ft cords (one attached, one detachable) with 5-15P plugs to prevent accidental disconnection.

Integrated Auto-Transfer Switching and Hot-Swap Capability

The PDUMH15AT features optional integrated automatic transfer switching (ATS) capability to provide a redundant power option for networking and server applications with non-redundant internal power supplies. In ATS mode, the attached power cord delivers primary input power and the included detachable power cord provides secondary input power. If primary power becomes unstable or fails, the PDU automatically switches to the secondary power source. Additionally, ATS enables fault-tolerant, hot-swappable UPS protection when used with a single UPS system, and fully redundant UPS protection when each power cord is connected to a separate UPS system.

Digital Current Meter

Ensure proper load balance with the PDUMH15AT's easy-to-read, two-character digital LED meter that displays the total connected equipment load. This meter enables IT personnel to monitor the total load on the PDU in real time, allowing more equipment to be safely connected with no danger of overloading the PDU or power supply circuits. Plus, the outlets are factory programmed for sequential activation when the PDU is first energized to prevent inrush-related equipment interaction on start-up and safeguard against costly overloads. Additionally, eight front-panel LEDs show each outlet's power status, and two LEDs show the power status of each input line cord.

Optional Advanced Power Management

A built-in SNMPWEBCARD slot enables the PDUMH15AT to be permanently upgraded to a switched PDU with full network power monitoring and individual outlet control capability. With an SNMPWEBCARD installed, the PDUMH15AT can also be custom programmed for power-on and power-off sequences with user-specified time delays in response to loss and restoration of primary input power.

Versatile Installation Options

The PDUMH15AT is easy to integrate with a wide range of data center and network applications. It is suitable for 1U installation in standard 19in. rack enclosures as well as wall-mount, workbench, under-counter and similar installations.

Switchless Design

The PDUMH15AT's switchless design prevents accidental shutoff and safeguards against downtime due to human error.

Peace of Mind

The PDUMH15AT is manufactured in compliance with strict RoHS specifications, reflecting Tripp Lite's commitment to environmental responsibility. For peace of mind, it comes backed by a two-year warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsTripp Lite vs. APC

Pros: The dual-source power is the main issue here, not only does it provide dual power sources for single plug equipment but for itself as well, facilitating cable disconnection for cable management, UPS failure and replacement without any down time. The other features are just icing on the cake

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: To those who mentioned APC forgot to note that APC makes nothing like this, therefore it is incomparable. I do not understand why any network hardware (including PDUs) has single source power? And Cisco's (and copycat HP) RPS systems are insanely moronic.

3 out of 5 eggsa bit clunky and slow

Pros: It's been working fine for many years.

It was the cheapest remote control power strip I found, and I think it still is.

Cons: The web interface shows each outlets power usage--but it's only showing it in amps, so anything less than 120Watts shows as 0. I have some small embedded devices plugged in, so they just show as 0 amps. I would have liked at least .1 amp accuracy.

It's very slow to react to power on/off commands for each outlet. Like 30-40 seconds. It does have a "cycle" button which powers off, then back on after 10 seconds, automatically, with the same 30 second delay. This is good enough for me.

The web interface looks fine in Safari, terrible in Firefox. Not sure why that is.

It's larger than I would have expected--I put some other test equipment on top of it on my bench.

4 out of 5 eggspdu slow response

Pros: easy install straight forward. call Tripp-lite tech support if any issues.

Cons: have 2Two units both experiencing slow response booting and turning off/no power outlets could be 30mins to an hour or more. Called Tripp-lite Support. the SNMP card needed new Firmware, erase settings back to factory. 2Two of my units working as expected now.
*Was not brought from New Egg.

Other Thoughts: Power outlets turn OFF/ON within Seconds now. after Tripp-Lite support call and processing of firmware and factory reset.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear our Chicago-based Tech Support Team was able to provide troubleshooting assistance to solve the problem you were having with the PDU’s response. Please feel free to contact us at 773-869-1234 if you have any other questions regarding this issue. Thank you.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat... if you have never used an APC unit

Pros: - Cheaper than the APC

Cons: - Unit boots very slow
- Interface is slow and clunky
- Outlets slow to respond to changes interface
- Have had to reboot each unit at least one time due to web GUI crash (required a drive to the data center)

Other Thoughts: These units are about 3 times as deep the APC unit which leads me to believe there is is probably using a small motherboard and processor to run embedded Linux. The APC unit on the other hand has a module that is closer to credit card size that the web OS runs off which seems to be much more responsive. APC's offering over all just seems to be more mature and in my opinion worth the extra money.
