Tripp Lite's 120V 15A metered PDU system with Automatic Transfer Switching (ATS) is an 8 outlet PDU with a digital display to indicate total PDU power consumption in amps. Outlets are sequentially turned on at 250 milliscond intervals when the PDU is first energized from an unpowered state to prevent inrush-related equipment interaction on startup. Supports 1U rackmount installation in a 2 or 4 post rack. Included are 8 NEMA 5-15R outlets, and two 12 ft. 5-15P input power cord. Optional integrated ATS is available for use when two separately derived input power sources are available. The attached power cord serves as the primary AC input cable, while the included detachable power cord serves as the optional-use secondary AC input connection. The PDU system passes the primary input power through to connected equipment whenever line voltage and frequency levels are normal. If the primary input source goes outside of these tolerances or fails altogether, the ATS will automatically switch all PDU output to the secondary line sourced input power (when available) to maintain continuous operation of connected loads without reboots or service interruptions. PDU 2/24/2012 2:04:44 PM Tech Level: 5/5 Ownership: 4/5	Rating: 4/5pdu slow response Pros: easy install straight forward. call Tripp-lite tech support if any issues. Cons: have 2Two units both experiencing slow response booting and turning off/no power outlets could be 30mins to an hour or more. Called Tripp-lite Support. the SNMP card needed new Firmware, erase settings back to factory. 2Two of my units working as expected now. Was not brought from New Egg. Other Thoughts:* Power outlets turn OFF/ON within Seconds now. after Tripp-Lite support call and processing of firmware and factory reset. Manufacturer Response: Thank you for your review. newbish 5/18/2011 1:06:51 PM Tech Level: 5/5 Ownership: 5/5	Rating: 2/5Great... if you have never used an APC unit Pros: - Cheaper than the APC Cons: - Unit boots very slow - Interface is slow and clunky - Outlets slow to respond to changes interface - Have had to reboot each unit at least one time due to web GUI crash (required a drive to the data center) Other Thoughts: These units are about 3 times as deep the APC unit which leads me to believe there is is probably using a small motherboard and processor to run embedded Linux. The APC unit on the other hand has a module that is closer to credit card size that the web OS runs off which seems to be much more responsive.
