5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Inverter

Pros: This inverter took everything I could throw at it... Until it failed. And I have every intention of replacing it with the same model. I powered multiple power tools with it at the same time, and it didn't even struggle. I even powered a 33' Class A motor home off of it and to test the load, I turned on the A/C's in the RV and it was greater then 66% load, kicked the fans on and kept on going.

It fits perfectly in my 05' Ram 3500 Quad-Cab on the floor between the Driver and Passenger. I have about 1/2" clearance between my cup holders and the inverter and its within arms reach so I can turn it on or off anytime!

Cons: It's pricey, but justifiably so.

Other Thoughts: The Inverter failed when it was connected to an RV and the deep cell charging system was being serviced. It was my fault and I inadvertently grounded out the inverter. It tried to provide the infinite amount of amperage my mistake was asking for and before the circuit breakers could trip, I blew out a transistor inside. Like I said, Totally my fault and I have every intention of replacing with the same make and model!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power

Pros: This unit worked flawlessly, thermally controlled fans were silent (couldn't even generate a big enough load to kick them on), battery and load capacity indicators were seemingly accurate, the free remote that came with it proved very convenient to monitor capacity from a tent, and the overload control works as expected. I powered a dual-element heated blanket and a crock-pot and the load indicator didn't waver at all. I suspect this inverter will perform well under a much heavier load... Next up is a 60" lcd and a mini-fridge for tailgating purposes.

The construction is very sturdy but keep in mind this is a large unit that you will have a difficult time hiding if the application isn't an RV or semi (or you don't have a battery within 4' of a mounting spot). I had planned on permanently installing this in my '07 Dodge Ram QC 1500 until I saw the size of it (and the size of the 0 gauge cabling to hook it up).

Cons: None that I can think of, it is large but I can't compare its size against other inverters with similar ratings.

Other Thoughts: If you cable this inverter properly (and you want to since this can draw enough to weld with) you will end up spending a pretty penny on cabling. I got 2 4' sections of 0 gauge cable for +/- battery leads, 4 feet of 4 gauge for earth ground (yes, 2 grounds), and a heavy-duty JL Audio fuse block to hook this up which will run around $150 at most car-audio shops. Not a con in any way but something to think about if you're going to get a high-output inverter like this.
