PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

It could happen in the blink of the eye: a sudden power surge that damages or destroys your valuable audio/video equipment. And even if a catastrophic surge never strikes, smaller power fluctuations and electromagnetic line noise can degrade picture and sound quality, disrupt equipment settings or corrupt recordings. The solution to protect your entire home theater system from surge damage and power-related performance problems? Tripp Lite's TLP810SAT Protect It!™ A/V Surge Suppressor. In one compact, cost-effective unit, the TLP810SAT provides comprehensive protection and performance enhancement for your A/V components and all electronics. It features a high 3240-joule surge suppression rating—more joules mean more protection for your valuable components! The TLP810SAT also filters out disruptive line noise that can degrade picture and sound quality, helping to assure that you enjoy the full audio and video performance you paid for.

Versatile Protection for All Electronics

The TLP810SAT offers cost-effective surge protection and performance enhancement for A/V components, PCs, peripheral devices and all electronics. It provides eight AC outlets, including three widely spaced outlets that accommodate bulky transformers without blocking other outlets. A 10-ft. cord enables connection to a distant wall outlet and a space-saving right-angle plug allows furniture to be placed flush against the wall.

Versatile Protection for All Electronics
Feature Focus
Improved Component Performance

Protection for Every Connection

Phone and coaxial connections represent a potential back door through which a damaging surge could reach your equipment. The TLP810SAT includes built-in tel/DSL (RJ11) jacks to prevent surges from damaging your modem/fax/phone equipment (6-ft. telephone cord included) and two sets of built-in Type F gold coax jacks prevent surges from damaging your cable/satellite equipment (digital broadband quality accommodates 2.2GHz bandwidth; 2 x 6-ft. coax cables included). Two-line coax protection enables you to safeguard both a cable and a satellite connection with one surge suppressor.

Improved Component Performance

Various electromagnetic and radio sources can cause disruptive interference on the AC line. This line noise is a common cause of incremental hardware damage, data corruption and audio/video performance problems. The TLP810SAT incorporates technology that filters out disruptive line noise, preventing it from affecting your equipment, and helping to assure peak audio and video performance.

Powerful AC Line Surge Suppression

The TLP810SAT features the highest surge protection rating in its class—3240 joules of surge suppression to prevent even the strongest surges from damaging your valuable electronics. Includes full normal mode (H-N) and common mode (N-G/H-G) line surge suppression.

Built-In Diagnostic and Alarm Capabilities

Two diagnostic LEDs (GROUNDED & PROTECTED) show power and protection status, enabling you to recognize power problems before they affect your valuable equipment. The GROUNDED LED verifies that the TLP810SAT is connected to a properly grounded wall outlet. The PROTECTED LED indicates that surge protection is available. If this PROTECTED LED ever goes out, simply return the TLP810SAT to Tripp Lite for a free replacement. Additionally, an audible alarm will sound if surge protection circuitry suffers fails—perfect for installations where the LEDs are not visible. An illuminated master switch provides one-touch power control over all components.

Ultimate Peace of Mind

The TLP810SAT comes with $250,000 Ultimate Lifetime Insurance—guaranteed lifetime protection for your equipment in case of surge damage, including direct lightning strikes. And it's simple: Ultimate Lifetime Insurance coverage begins the moment you purchase the TLP810SAT, with no forms to fill out or send in. Additionally, this Tripp Lite Protect It! Surge Suppressor is backed by a lifetime product warranty and a rapid-response, no-questions-asked replacement policy that's unmatched in the industry.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Outlets are well spaced, compact size. Clamping voltage is 150V (excellent), and low pass-through of 300

Cons: none that I can see at this time.

Other Thoughts: Just wanted to say that Newegg has the wrong picture of this surge suppressor. This surge suppressor only has 2 coax connections, not 4.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the Wrong Picture

Pros: None if the Picture is of the different model linked below

Cons: This is not the right picture for this model. This model is the $70 one found here on newegg

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=82-750-085&ParentOnly=1&IsVirtualParent=1

If you are getting the same one pictured at this $37, you need to buy a few extra to sell

Other Thoughts: This is not the first time Newegg Web People either messed up or intentionally (I believe intentionally) does this. Happened to me over the years two times. But that is still better than getting an opened box item and they reseal and sell as new.

5 out of 5 eggsTripp Lite TLP810SAT

Pros: I have two of these now after learning the hard way. Yep--had some stuff get zapped while other stuff survived (what was most likely a lightning surge) being hooked up to one of these units. Soooo... Just glad they seemed to work well.

Cons: Newegg has the specs wrong for this unit. The joule rating for it is 3240, not 3570. It's plainly written on the front of the box, but on the side of the box there appears ad-photos of other Tripp Lite surge protectors and one of them reads 3570 for a joule rating, but this unit, as shown on the front of the box, is rated at 3240. The Tripp Lite website confirms this. There is also a similar unit, the TLP810NET that also is rated at 3240. Maybe they'll correct their ad-page for this by the time others read this.

5 out of 5 eggsTripp Lite TLP810SAT

Pros: I have bought two of these from newegg. Three weeks ago I was at a neighbor's house when the lights surged on and off. I lost track of the number of surges before the power went dead. I will admit to being scared. I have this one for both of my computers and a somewhat more expensive Tripp Lite on my totally irreplaceable stereo. Of course when the downpour stopped I went home and unplugged everything that I could think of. Five hours later the power came on and I waited a quarter hour before I turned anything and eventually everything on. Tripp Lite saved me again. By now I've spent so much money at newegg that they should adopt me. Everything has come up aces.

Cons: None whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: See Pros.

5 out of 5 eggsA Freak Out Man

Pros: The deal with surge suppressors lies in it over voltage clamping ability. Most suppressor R rated at 300-400 voltage.

This Tripp Lite (trips) or clamps at 150 Volts - RMS,

Cons: contraindication: None

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for, and for what you know.

A few days ago a major electrical storm moved through the neighborhood. I could hear transformers blowing, one right after another, I counted four explosions.

My mind was on the explosion and not my PC, The Tripp Lite changed that when the alarm went off, I could hear something clicking on and off, so I ran into my office and started unplugging stuff as fast as I could.

My freak out is over but for sure I have all my wires going though this surge protector, I am now confident it is superior because my Monster surge suppressor did nothing at all.
The spikes from this storm were not high enough for the cheap units to trip, but I unplugged it before 3000 V hit it..

The word is voltage clamping, so look for it.

Our normal voltage is 115 to 120 at 150v its unlikely to see any damage, spikes over 170v may cause some damage.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Surge Suppressor

Pros: Arrived quickly and promptly. Easy set up. Clean looking, lots of room. Excellent quality for the price.

Cons: Could have been either a little larger or had more room in between the larger outlets in order to make room for larger items that need surge protection.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely buy again due to the experience I've had with it so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power strip

Pros: It has 5 plugs close togethor and another 3 that are distanced apart so you can plug in DC plugs without a problem. Has cable line in and out for protection there and this is fairly cheap in price.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I bought two for both of my computer setups, I plan to buy 2 more for my TVs, might just buy one for all my friends and family too! These are great!

5 out of 5 eggsNice unit

Pros: 3570 Joules

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I don't use this to cover my phone line or cable, I make sure they are well grounded at the entry.
