Get more control and better performance in your high-density IT environment! Tripp Lite's PDUMV30NET Switched, Metered PDU is the ideal choice for powering and managing high-density equipment more effectively. Featuring a built-in SNMPWEBCARD, the PDUMV30NET provides full remote power monitoring and control via a secure network or web browser interface. The PDUMV30NET can monitor and report input power status, output power, PDU load conditions and more. Used with an optional environmental sensor module (Tripp Lite model ENVIROSENSE), it can also perform temperature/humidity and dry contact interface monitoring. The PDUMV30NET's 24 outlets are individually controllable to enable load shedding, load ramping and remote rebooting of locked-up servers and other network devices. To prevent inrush-related equipment interaction at startup, the outlets are programmed for sequential activation. A digital meter is also provided, enabling the PDU's load to be monitored on site. The PDUMV30NET is configurable with included hardware for 0U (vertical) installation in the cable management area of most rack enclosures, and also supports toolless button-mount vertical installation in compatible rack enclosures. An included mounting accessory enables the PDUMV30NET to be vertically button mounted with its outlets facing to the rear.

PDUMV30NET Applications

Built-In Network Interface with Broad Compatibility

The PDUMV30NET features a built-in SNMPWEBCARD that enables full remote power monitoring and control via a secure network or web browser interface The PDUMV30NET provides 10/100 Mbps auto-sensing for optimal communication compatibility with a 10/100 Base-T network. Protocols supported include HTTP, HTTPS, PowerAlert Network Management System, SMTP, SNMPv1, SNMPv2, Telnet, FTP, DHCP, BOOTP and NTP. DHCP/Manual configuration support provides the ability to have network settings automatically assigned to the card, or manually assigned via permanent IP addresses.

PDUMV30NET Feature Focus

Advanced Network Monitoring Capabilities

The PDUMV30NET gives IT personnel enhanced oversight of network power conditions. It remotely monitors site power conditions and PDU load levels, and provides immediate event notifications via email or SNMP traps. Real-time clock backup maintains the time of day and date even if the PDU is shut down and unpowered. Used with Tripp Lite's optional ENVIROSENSE sensor, the PDUMV30NET can also remotely monitor temperature/humidity conditions plus up to four dry contact interfaces for alarm, security and telecom devices. These capabilities simplify and streamline the task of network power management.

Remote Outlet Control

The PDUMV30NET's 24 5-15/20R outlets are arranged in two separately breakered 12-outlet load banks. Individually switched outlets can be controlled in real-time to remotely reboot unresponsive network hardware, or be custom programmed for user-defined power-up and power-down sequences to ensure proper startup of interdependent IT systems and prevent inrush-related overloads as network equipment is first energized. Unused PDU outlets can be electronically locked off to prevent the connection of unauthorized hardware.

Digital Current Meter

To prevent potential overloads before critical IT main or branch breakers trip, the PDUMV30NET is equipped with a digital LED meter that enables IT personnel to monitor the total load on the PDU in real time. This meter helps to assure that the PDU is used at maximum capacity with no danger of overload. A push-button toggle switch enables users to view power consumption for all three loading segments: Bank 1 (12 outlets), Bank 2 (12 outlets) or Banks 1 and 2 combined (24 outlets).

Dual Overload Protection

The PDUMV30NET's two load banks are each provided with a 20A circuit breaker to protect the PDU and connected equipment from damage due to overloads and short circuits.

Dual Circuit Breakers

Versatile Installation Options Including Toolless Mounting

The PDUMV30NET is easy to integrate with a wide range of data center and network applications. It can be configured for 0U rack installation with included hardware, and also supports toolless button-mount vertical installation in all Tripp Lite and other compatible rack enclosures. Vertical 0U installation reduces cord clutter and promotes efficient airflow through the rack. Included cord retention brackets keep equipment plugs securely connected. An included mounting accessory (Tripp Lite model PDUMVROTATEBRKT) enables the PDUMV30NET to be vertically button mounted with its outlets facing to the rear for improved airflow and equipment access. The PDUMV30NET is further optimized for reliable service in IT applications with a rugged all-metal case, high-quality outlets and plugs, and a switchless design to prevent accidental shutoff.

Peace of Mind

The PDUMV30NET comes with a 2-year manufacturer's product warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't buy

Pros: The triplite IP remote switched PDUs have good features on paper for a good price but they do not work well.

Cons: The problem is with the lousy control card which they call "SNMP card". I have had 5 of these PDUs for about 3 years. The control cards somethimes just stop responding and require a trip to the datacenter to pull them out to reset them.

Often they get in a mode where it take minutes to hours for it to respond to switching and outlet on or off.

In the best case, when you switch an outlet on/off it takes about 10 seconds to perform the action.

Other Thoughts: I have replaced many SNMP cards over the years. They have redesigned the hardware and updated the web UI but incredibly the new ones are no more stable.

The straw that broke the camels back for me is when I got the last two, one of them has some sticky relays. You switch off an outlet, the light goes off, it reports that the outlet is off, but the outlet still has power. Because I had to hard wire the unit's power cord into my rack, they said I violated the waranty and would not replace the defected unit!

I have spent way too much time on these units. They are suppose to make remote management easier but instead they create never ending management work and they often don't work when needed.
