Tripp Lite's PDUMV40 Metered Distribution Unit gives you the performance and flexibility of two independent, high-current power circuits—without the extra expense, space requirements and management demands of two separate PDUs. It provides 32 outlets arranged in two independent 16-outlet banks, each with its own digital meter that displays continuous power consumption. This enables IT personnel to monitor the PDU's load on site. The PDUMV40 features an all-metal housing and a switchless design to prevent accidental shut-off. Included hardware supports vertical 0U rack installation as well as wall-mount, workbench, under-counter and similar installations. It is also configurable for toolless button-mount vertical installation in compatible rack enclosures. The PDUMV40 comes with a two-year warranty.
Optimized for Demanding Applications
The PDUMV40 is designed for reliable distribution of AC power to supported equipment in IT, industrial and similar applications. It features a rugged all-metal case, high-quality outlets and plugs, a switchless design to prevent accidental shutoff and dual 20A circuit breakers. The circuit breakers are sleeved to protect against accidental shutoff.
Reliable IT Power Distribution
Unfiltered electrical pass-through makes the PDUMV40 ideal for distributing alternate waveform utility, UPS or generator power in rack enclosures, network closets and more. It provides 32 5-15/20R outlets in two separately powered, breakered and metered 20A load banks, and dual 10ft power cords with locking L5-20P plugs. Included plug adapters enable the PDU to be connected to standard 5-15/20R outlets.
Dual Circuit Design
The PDUMV40 features two independent 20A circuits, each with its own cord/plug, digital meter, 20A circuit breaker and 16-outlet load bank. This makes the PDUMV40 ideal for powering servers and networking equipment with dual redundant power supplies or for any application that requires high capacity in a compact form factor.
Dual Digital Current Meters
The PDUMV40 is equipped with two easy to read, two-character digital LED meters that display the connected equipment load for each independent 16-outlet load bank. These meters enable IT personnel to monitor the total load on the PDU in real time, allowing more equipment to be safely connected with no danger of overloading the PDU or power supply circuits. This helps to assure proper load balance in complex redundant power applications.
The PDUMV40 features color-coded current meters, plugs, power cords, outlets and circuit breakers for each independent 20A circuit. This simplifies power cord management in high-density multi-server configurations. The included L5-20R to 5-20P plug adapters enable the PDU to be connected to standard 5-15/20R outlets.
Versatile Installation Options
The PDUMV40 is easy to integrate with a wide range of data center and network applications. Included mounting hardware enables the PDU to be installed in 0U vertical rackmount configurations, wall-mount, workbench, under-counter and similar applications. It is also configurable for toolless button-mount vertical installation in compatible rack enclosures.
The PDUMV40's switchless design prevents accidental shutoff and safeguards against downtime due to human error. Both L5-20P plugs lock into place to maintain a secure connection.
Peace of Mind
The PDUMV40 is manufactured in compliance with strict RoHS specifications, reflecting Tripp Lite's commitment to environmental responsibility. For peace of mind, it comes backed by a two-year warranty.
What's in the Box
Nice addition to the rack
This review is from: Tripp Lite PDUMV40 Metered 120V 40A 10 ft Power Distribution Unit
Pros: Space efficient, organized, snap in mounting
Cons: 20-amp plugs instead of more common 15-amp, due to the high concentration of outlets
Other Thoughts: I've been slowly filling out a rack in a small business and bought this PDU after running out of places to plug things in. I feel silly for not buying this when I got the rack, it snaps right in without tools (APC NetShelter) and takes up no space. Cords can be short and direct to the nearest outlet, redundant server power supplies can be plugged into alternate circuits, and overall power draw is conveniently displayed.
