With more than 19 million satisfied customers worldwide, Tripp Lite's Isobar® is the world’s number-one selling premium surge suppressor. Tripp Lite’s exclusive Isobar surge suppression technology, combined with a nearly indestructible metal case, stops even the strongest surges before they can damage or destroy sensitive equipment. The ISOBAR6 features unique isolated filter banks that block disruptive EMI/RFI line noise interference and prevent mutual interference between connected components. These banks, combined with a high 3330-joule surge suppression rating and 6 5-15R outlets, make the ISOBAR6 ideal for a wide range of applications, like factories, warehouses, retail outlets and home offices.
Ultimate Protection for All Electronics
The ISOBAR6 offers powerful surge protection for all electronics. It provides six 5-15R outlets arranged in three isolated filter banks. Outlets are widely spaced to accommodate up to four large transformers without blocking remaining outlets. A set of four plug-in covers is included to safeguard unused outlets. A 6ft cord enables connection to a distant wall outlet, and a space-saving, right-angle 5-15P plug allows furniture to be placed flush against the wall. An illuminated master switch provides one-touch power control over all connected components, and four keyhole slots on the back of the unit enable the ISOBAR6 to be mounted on a wall.
Powerful Surge Suppression and Performance Enhancement
More joules mean more protection! The ISOBAR6’s 3330-joule surge suppression rating, Isobar surge protection technology and rugged, all-metal housing shield connected equipment from even the strongest surges. EMI/RFI line noise filtering helps components perform at their peak. Line noise filtering eliminates performance problems that can be caused by radio transmissions, fluorescent lighting and appliances, while promoting longer component life spans.
Exclusive Isolated Filter Banks
Devices connected to the same surge suppressor can interfere with one another’s performance—for instance when office equipment or household appliances (printers, copiers, blenders, vacuums, fans) degrade TV picture and sound quality. The Isobar is the only surge suppressor with internal barriers (called isolated filter banks) that prevent disruptive line noise from causing A/V distortion, computer lock-ups, data errors and similar problems. Isolated filter banks ensure that peripheral devices and appliances don’t degrade the performance of computers and sensitive A/V components.
Versatile Installation Options
The ISOBAR6 features a 6ft cord to reach distant outlets. A space-saving, right-angle plug allows office furniture to be placed flush against the wall. The ISOBAR6’s rugged all-metal case stands up to harsh environments such as warehouses, garages and factory floors. The case is equipped with keyhole mounting tabs to facilitate permanent installation on or under counters and worktables, on walls, etc. Four included outlet covers may be used to safeguard unused outlets.
Lifetime Warranty and Environmentally Responsible Design
The ISOBAR6 is manufactured in compliance with strict RoHS specifications, reflecting Tripp Lite’s commitment to environmental responsibility. For peace of mind, it comes backed by a lifetime warranty and $50,000 of Ultimate Lifetime Insurance for connected equipment.

This review is from: Tripp Lite ISOBAR6 6 ft. Cord 6 Outlets 3330 Joules Isobar Surge Suppressor
Pros: I like that these are metal. Not only to they have MOV's but they have choke filters as well. I have had a good experience with many of these for many years
Cons: Once in a great while the solder joints that connect the outlets to the circuit board will go bad causing it to buz and smoke - this can actually damage equipment by itself. This only happened to a few of them a few years back, It is easy to resolder them and I don't know of any that have failed twice.
Other Thoughts: I have been using these units for over 10 years. I worked for a company of over 800 employees which used hundreds of these. Over the years I have only seen a few of them fail after years of service and after being kicked around and abused under people's desks
