Makes Serial Devices Compatible with USB Computers

The U209-000-R is a simple, portable solution that's perfect for making any serial device compatible with a USB computer. It features a USB A (male) connector that connects to the computer and a DB9 (male) connector for a serial peripheral. Providing data transfer rates to 230 Kbps, it's ideal for use with a wide range of applications including PDAs, digital cameras and more.

The U209-000-R gives you plug-and-play convenience. It requires no complicated setup procedures or external power, and lets you hot-swap connected devices at any time with no need to power down the computer. The U209-000-R is compatible with Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Vista and Win7. For Windows 98 and Windows 2000, a mini CD with required drivers is included.

Other Thoughts: I support a lot of Cisco gear and this performs flawlessly. The serial cable securely attaches to the adapter where other adapters do not have that option. Cons: none Other Thoughts: maybe add some mini leds to the output, so we can watch the blinking so as to know that its hooking up and working properly, just a thought, mind ya not really nesacarry(sp).
