Pros: Works flawlessly for picture, locks into port to prevent accidental removal.

Cons: Does not allow my ThinkPad X220 to see the HDMI audio channel.

Other Thoughts: Love the adapter for using PC with another monitor or TV for presentations, but lack of sound pass-through is an issue for watching movies on TV.

Pros: It provides great video quality

Cons: Not only is there no sound, but the laptop does not see the HDMI audio channel. I haven't been able to figure out why or if it is something else wrong.

Other Thoughts: Our new high end Lenovo laptops at work have Display Port outputs for video instead of HDMI or DVI (as well as the old VGA port). We are connecting the laptops to a new 55" conference room monitor that only has HDMI inputs. We use this Display Port to HDMI adapter coupled with a long HDMI cable. The video quality is great, but no sound. I haven't brought in a DVD player or anything yet to prove that it isn't the monitor at fault.

Displayport is designed to support audio, but this is an optional feature and not supported on all sources. If your source supports Displayport with audio, the P136-000 will transmit the signal to a connected display. If you determine that your source supports Displayport with audio and you have enabled the corresponding audio settings but the P136-000 is still not transmitting an audio signal, please contact Tripp Lite’s Chicago-based Tech Support team at 773-869-1234 and we will be happy to help troubleshoot the issue for you. Pros: Its is your basic run of the mill adapter. No frills, just does what its supposed to. DisplayPort locks in to the socket.

Cons: It is NOT an active adapter, so it will NOT work for eyefinity. If it does, someone please let me know how.

Other Thoughts: I should have done about 15 minutes more research before springing to buy this, but the active adapter (required for eyefinity) is going to cost me like $120 now. Its something they don't really have in clear english. 2 "legacy" monitors and one on displayport is how it works.
