1 out of 5 eggsWorked perfectly for exactly one year, then caught on fire.

Pros: Cheap. Did exactly what it was supposed to while it worked. +5 eggs

Cons: Catches on fire. Lots of smoke, fortunately I had my machine open and sitting on my desk when it decided to go so I was able to pull the power within seconds. Adapter was installed within hours of receiving it and not touched for a year, so no idea why it waited this long to finally short out. A small spot a couple millimeters in from the connector edge is melted through to the conductor. Fortunately the SSD it was connected to was not damaged, beyond a little goopy plastic and soot. -4 eggs for trying to kill my machine.

Other Thoughts: It's a dirt simple connector. Obviously it was built well enough to last a year. As there was no moving parts and the connector was not disconnected even once after installed, I have no idea what caused the failure. I'm not saying it was aliens, but it was probably aliens.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what we need

Pros: Because we all seem to have way too many molex power connectors and not enough sata, this Y is what we need.

Cons: What we really need is a braided version of this, which would probably cost us an added $0.25, but look way, way better.

2 out of 5 eggsPain in the..

Pros: I own 2. Both worked with 2 drives for some time seemingly without trouble.

Cons: Had 2 drives in my main machine running on them, drives are refurbs so when they started randomly parking their heads (HISSSSSSS) I figured it was the drives. I figured wrong. One channel per cord works fine, either plug. Two equals under volts and possible hardware damage. The drives are still kicking though.

Other Thoughts: Other cord was in another machine, after I put in a 2nd drive and tested some more realized the problem. Now both adapters are in 1 machine. 4 plugs, powering 2 devices. Expect more, and you might be a have some fried pcbs..

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Does what it is supposed to. Converts Molex to sata power.

Cons: It fell apart upon first plug in, but super glue is your friend. The cable itself was fine, but one of the pins fell out and had to super glue it next to it's friends.

Other Thoughts: Cheap cable works.
