5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, longer than the factory cable, round cable!

Cons: I'm using this for my external HDD. After about 3-4 Months some of the pieces fell off the connector. Now it wiggles -> tend to loose files in the transfer if cable wiggles. But for this amount of money, what do you expect.

Other Thoughts: Next time I'll make sure that some extra money is being spent!

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this one

Pros: Fast data transfer

Cons: Falls apart

Other Thoughts: Bought two of these. On one, the connector was so tight that it ripped off the cable before it came out of the socket on the drive. Just lucky the cable was damaged and the drive is OK. Too cheap to bother with a return, postage would cost more than the cable.

5 out of 5 eggsnice cable

Pros: Makes a nice, solid connection that withstands moderate movement without coming loose. The round cable is a little stiff, but flexes better than my flat cables, and without that alarming crackle noise. Performance is great. I chose this bright red cable for the "trunk" between PC and an external 5-port multiplier -- and everything runs smoothly, even when I'm shoving the cable out of the way with all 5 drives busy. (My old cable would drop connection.)

Cons: Not as flexible as it looks.

Other Thoughts: 5 drives is a lot of traffic, and the cable handles it well -- but I bought this 6Gb cable for breathing room; my controller only does 3Gb.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent eSata Cable

Pros: This eSata cable works very well. It has a decent fit and the cable is round and flexible not easily dislodging when you move your enclosure or dock around.

Cons: The only reason I gave it a 4 star is that it would be nice if the cable would actually snap on but none exists that I have seen, so it is the best cable so far.

Other Thoughts: I have been disappointed with eSata ports and cables. I I don't understand why the designer of eSata would make a port that doesn't have a good fit like USB. Generally, it has a very loose fit causing stiff flat cables, to dislodge very easily if you move your enclosure or dock around. Part of the problem is that it lacks depth, so that it will not fit well. I have used about 4 different cables looking for a cable that would fit and this OKgear cable, so far is the best yet. It works consistently so far. I've even had the flat stiff cables not work, which is the common cable you get. Other cables did not have a proper fit, requiring trimming. This move away from nice fitting ports is disappointing. I will gladly embrace USB3 as time goes on due to a better type of port and plug. I will not miss eSata due to all the trouble with its ports and cables but for now it is a better solution than USB2.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat External SATA

Pros: 6 gbps, round, cool color, backward compatible, nice end covers for protection.

Cons: none at all

Other Thoughts: really can't think of much to add here maybe a variety of lengths and more colors other than that, super cable, didn't test speed as I dont have but some old 1.5 Gbps notebook drives i keep for backup, and they sure work fine on them.

5 out of 5 eggsRed Cable

Pros: Does exactly what it is build to do. E-Sata is much faster than USB and you really don't need more than a 3 or 4 foot cable for an occasionally used external HDD.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: None, if you can find what you need for cheaper, then buy that! Oh, and I was tired of boring grey and black cables...so I bought a bright red cable to spice things up!

1 out of 5 eggsdoesnt work

Pros: long and the connecter it good

Cons: BIG CON, the cable didnt work. I tried for 3 days to get the new external harddrive. I was about to return it, but i decided i would give it one more chance with another esata cable I had. AND IT WORKED. SO for whatever reason with this esata cable it just didnt want to work, but Intel storage controller matrix would see that something was trying to be plugged in but wouldnt connect.

Other Thoughts: maybe the one i got was the bad one out of the bunch?
