5 out of 5 eggsStable 10/100 USB for Linux

Pros: Low cost.

Driver is in kernel for most Linux.
(Works for EL6.5)

Worked great to help convert a 4 year old Netbook into a combined "network monitor/firewall/router/AP"

Cons: I didn't solve world hunger.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking great

Pros: I use it as a second NIC for my Raspberry Pi that runs as a dhcp server. I plug it in and Raspbian 7(wheezy) recognized it instantly and installed drivers and start working.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Happy customer!

5 out of 5 eggsPlug 'n' Play

Pros: This works great! Plugged into my MacBook Retina and in seconds I had an internet connection with my wireless disabled. No drivers no CDs, not setup. Speeds are just fine, I probably should have spent a little extra for the 3.0 gigabit version but I really just needed it so that I could have a hard connection as I am using Synergy on my PC to control my MacBook setup on my second monitor. The wireless was a bit choppy sometimes.

Tested speeds actual speeds are about 60-140mps at least that was the transfer speed to my network drive.

I like the white since it matches the rest of the Apple stuff I already have.

I also like that this has the LED lights in it too.. How else are you supposed to know it's working?

Cons: None. Does everything I need it to.

Other Thoughts: It's not the cheapest Ethernet adapter out there, but it works and it seems to work great for most cases. If you're planning on moving big files or streaming uncompressed HD video to your Xbox and you have USB 3.0 you should spring for the gigabit version. But this is fast enough for most cases.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks for windows and mac, not linux

Pros: Works fine in windows, and OS X 10.6. I tried it on a couple linux machines but didn't have any luck, but I didn't want to spend a ton of time on it either, so YMMV. Good speeds for USB and seems reliable. It's good for an extra interface when you don't need high speed transfers.

Cons: Limited by USB 2.0 speeds, so if you need a high speed network connection this is not what you want.

Other Thoughts: For a simple extra network interface you could do worse, especially for the price. Not sure about how it would work in linux though, so one egg off for that.

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless on Linux

Pros: -Plug and play, already supported by Linux kernel
-The pigtail gives flexibility when on the go or with desk clutter
-Works great, getting close to full rated data rates and 0%PL

Cons: -Could use more than 100Mbps but not sure if the chipset supports it

Other Thoughts: Bought it because my built-in adapter developed a packet loss issue over the years. Great substitute, superb Linux compatibility

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for virtualization

Pros: Small and light form factor with USB cord. Works great for setting up a virtual lab, allowing virtual machines to have their own physical NIC when needed. USB cord is great for adding to a USB hub. Works well with Linux 32 & 64 bit os (without driver issues) as well as Windows 7 64bit (with driver install)

Cons: Not the fastest NIC, but it is USB 2.0. Works very well for light applications. Not the smallest form factor, but I still carry three of these on trips in my backpack without issue.
