PPA 9547D USB 2.0 Drive Adapter

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Not reliable, mine worked for 2 months and then nothing. One of China's worst products, I probably need to test myself for lead poisoning.

Pros: Device worked flawless the first two times I used it. Quite a labor saving and useful device when it worked.

Cons: On the third use, the device did not work. Device was connected exactly as described in the provided instructions. The connected hard drive did not seem to rotate when the included power adapter was connected to the hard drive (I tried a couple of hard drives with the same result) so I suspect the power adapter failed. My computer does seem to recognize the USB connection but the drive does not show up as an attached device on the computer.

Other Thoughts: Based on my experience, I would be reluctant to recommend this device to others. I also sent an email question to www.ppa-usa concerning the failure of the device (warranty) but have not received an answer. I am over the 30 day Newegg return for replacement period.

Pros: Worked really better than I expected. Transfered a hard drive from a dead computer XP. Took longer than I expected but it did it.

Cons: when it says 5 second left, figure another 30 min to an hour and it will show no bytes left to transfer and don't shut it down or you will lose the data on your hard drive. wait until the red indicator stops flashing and then you are good to go.

Pros: Product seemed well made, SATA power for drive was supplied through adapter was a plus.

Cons: Product was DOA never got a chance to use it. No power out . Hope the RMA one works...

Pros: Looks like it would be great to use and feels pretty sturdy.

Cons: Was DOA out of the box on first use (over a month since I purchased so I can't exchange.) There is no power coming out of the adapter (tested with multi-meter.) The USB adapter is detected and works correctly though...
