5 out of 5 eggsBest for the Money

Pros: Works in Windows 2000, XP, Linux, and FreeBSD. It's widely supported. The PS seems to run any one drive, DVD-RW, DVD-ROM, HD, Etc. Functions just like you would expect it to.

Cons: Very cheap construtction. Be careful with it and you'll be fine though.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what that other idiot was yacking about, of course it will not work on a broken drive. And FAT32 being messed up, reformat the drive. I can hardly believe you're still using something as ancient as FAT32 on a hard drive these day.

5 out of 5 eggsA great Help

Pros: Works better than I thought it would, just plug it in wait a few minuets then access the drive any way you want; backup or run antivirus or spyware checker. Can use it to fix missing files or run scandisk etc.

Cons: If the harddrive is shot or unformated or the fat32 is broke or something like that your out of luck.

Other Thoughts: This is my second one, gave the first to a tech friend two days ago. He loves it and used it a few times so I told him to keep it.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well and fast

Pros: Works well for grabbing data from hard drives, and also works with my dvd-rw. Power supply works well.

Cons: IDE connector with the logic board in it pops apart easily, but a drop of glue or tape took care of that.

Other Thoughts: Great product, going to be getting another one soon as a spare!

1 out of 5 eggsGRR DIDNT WORK

Pros: cheap, good idea.

Cons: No matter what I did, I couldnt get this to work. Ive tried it on several computers with several hard drives. The computer would sometimes recognize the adapter, but the hard drive would never show up. Its not worth the time/cost to ship it back. I hope I just recieved a bad product.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to mess with it some more, maybe there is something I'm missing here. Just a bit frustrating.

4 out of 5 eggsIDE to USB

Pros: 1. Supports 300 and 400 gig hard drives.

2. Comes with a power supply powered 3.5"IDE to 2.5"IDE connector converter.

Cons: 1. The 3.5"IDE to 2.5"IDE connector converter was inoperable, and didn't have a filled pin or tab to let you know which side is up.

2. IDE connector is slightly smaller than the hard drive connectors, which means you have to precisely align the connector.

3. The power supply shorted out on 220V AC power, though it's rated for 110-240V. (It worked on 110V when I tried later)

4. No bus powered option for 2.5" drives.

Other Thoughts: It feels and looks cheap, but does it's job, and works with large hard drives. If the converter works, it would be a great deal for the price.

3 out of 5 eggs50-50

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: You need to remove the plastic cover to be able to use a 4pin power connector on your device. Bad design.
I got two, one of them is RMAed already after a day, it will not work at USB2.0 specs, windows device manager advice to plug the device in a USB 2.0 port, and it's already in oneof my 8 usb 2.0 connectors. I dont have USB 1 on my pc. The other one work just fine.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap, incredibly useful

Pros: Cheap, works fine, very useful

Cons: IDE/USB cable makes it so a standard Molex power connector doesn't fit very well. Kinda annoying, hardly a dealbreaker.

Other Thoughts: Anyone who works with computers often should have at least one of these.
