1 out of 5 eggsShould have read the reviews...

Pros: Nice swivel connector

Cons: Housing around DVI connector is kind of bulky.

It's a DVI adaptor but it's of the DVI M1-DA type. This type of connector is usually only found on the DVI out on a PC so as others have stated this WILL NOT connect to the DVI input on most flat panel monitors.

Other Thoughts: Feel kind of cheated since the item description states: "Compatible with flat panel displays" and it turns out it isn't compatible with most. It's just on that threshold cost that isn't not worth the hassle to try and send back.. so others beware.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked as stated. Swivel function is nice.

Cons: Feels alittle cheap in build strength. Swivel feature seem to be weak point.

Other Thoughts: I needed a Video HDMI out for my HTPC, and this did the job great from the DVI on the video card.

1 out of 5 eggsNot suitable for DVI monitors (back of a graphics card ONLY)

Pros: Works great if you plug it into the back of a graphics card.

Cons: Does not fit into any DVI monitor I own.

Other Thoughts: This adapter was bought to connect HDMI devices to the many, many DVI monitors I need to test for work. However, the pinout on the DVI connector is DVI-I and therefore will not connect to any of the purely digital DVI monitors (which is all of them). DVI-D doesn't have the four little pins around the flat bar pin, and the female connectors are usually solid plastic. This is so you don't make any electrical connections of analog signals into the monitors which usually have a seperate VGA connector for that.

Be careful. If you're planning on plugging this directly into the monitor and using an HDMI cable to go to your device, unless you have a monitor with DVI-I input this isn't going to work. Any monitor with DVI-D input won't fit.

I don't understand why they did this as HDMI cannot carry the analog signals in the first place. The pins could have been left completely missing and it would still be a perfectly functional HDMI adapter (and I have several others which are like this :)

1 out of 5 eggsDVI->HDMI ADAPTER

Pros: The rotating feature is handy. HDMI Cable fits snug.

Cons: !!RETAINGING CLIP BREAKS!! This is a hude disappointment! I bought two of these adapters and BOTH of them have litteraly ripped themselves apart when removing the HDMI cable! This adapter holds the HDMI cable too securely; if you plan on leaving the adapter mounted on the video card and just pulling the HDMI cable out when you need to - forget it. It will pull itself apart.

Other Thoughts: Good thing they are as cheap as they are because you are going to pay more in shipping than they are worth. On the flip side, if you leave the HDMI cable plugged in and remove the entire adapter, I don't think you will have this issue. I was set to give these at least 4 eggs; but when 2 of these units did the same thing (with 2 different types of HDMI cables), I can not give my recomendation to buy these.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It doesn't show it in the picture, but the adapter can actually swivel 180 degrees as well as folding back and forth.

Cons: The adapter is rather large for no real reason. If your video card puts the slots rather close to together you might want to take note of that. I was dual screening and the two dongles were overlapping by a mere centimeter, so rather than risking bent pins I pulled out a file and took off some of the unnecessary plastic to get them to fit. It was frustrating, but not enough to take an egg off, seeing as it was mostly my cards fault for putting them so close together.

Other Thoughts: As one of the only male to female adapters I could find, I was very pleased to find this one performed as well as I expected. If I ever find the need I would buy this again.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: Great picture quality
Easy to install

Cons: The hinge in this adaptor seems pretty shotty. If you have it up against a wall it is a real space saver, but make sure nothing will be hitting it. The connection for the hdmi is a little tight, but i think that will losen up over time.

Other Thoughts: More options for DVI-I adaptors would be great. It would be awsome if i could fine a cable the went straight from DVI-I to HDMI.

5 out of 5 eggsFlexible and sturdy

Pros: it rotates, which is nice if your in a cramped area. works better than the hdmi port on my $180 video card

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: My hdmi port on my new video card was buggy. Couldnt do 1360x768, lots of black screens while in use, and had issues on startup. Plugged this in, and not 1 black screen during use in 2 weeks. plus, it now runs 1360x768.

4 out of 5 eggsLearning Experience!!!

Pros: Does what it is supposed to do. Quality is OK.

Cons: If your Video Card does not output a HDMI signal and you are trying to use this as an adapter to hook up a nice High Def TV, you are wasting your time. Your Vid Card must output the High Def signal for this to work. Don't be me and not check before you buy!

3 out of 5 eggsDual Monitor nightmare

Pros: Has two joints and each rotate 180 degrees. Allows me to have my computer completely flush against the wall like I wanted. Signal seems perfected, comparable to my DVI cables at 1920x1080. HDMI cable seats snug in the port.

Cons: Construction feels somewhat flimsy and the casing separates easily. My biggest issue is that the adapter is much wider than the average DVI cable. I purchased two expecting to use them on my dual monitor setup. The DVI ports on my GeForce 8800 GTX OC2 are too close together.

Other Thoughts: I suggest adding some electrical tape on the HDMI port casing if you expect your cords to be moved frequently, as with like a dog sleeping under the desk or kicking with feet.

The adapter is otherwise very nice and highly recommended but if you have DVI ports that are close and expect to use both, look elsewhere. Even after removing the casing on one of the adapters it no longer works.
