1 out of 5 eggsproblems

Pros: Don't have any yet.

Cons: The driver would not load as instructed. I had to brouse the CD and load driver from the drivers folder. When I installed the device my computer quit working. I rebooted serval times but no luck. I finally unpluged all usbs and stared my computer. The computer worked and I reinstalled all usbs. I got the Usb 2.0 loaded and went to install the video program. The instruction said to open a folder on the DVD that is not there. I broused the DVD and found the serial number and the program loaded. After all this I dedcided to wait the test the device.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great so far

Pros: Worked great within a few minutes.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a CCD infrared camera. I had previously been using it with a WinTv capture box, but it failed. I got the Sabrent working out of the box in about five minutes. I installed just the driver from the CD. I am not going to install any other software so as not to jeopardize it. I am using Yawcam and everything is working flawlessly. Granted, it's only been one day, but I wanted to come here and give it a good review. If it fails I will update

1 out of 5 eggsEww.

Pros: Works with linux using the "easycap" kernel module, and was tested with kernel 3.1.

Cons: This device is basically a duplicate of the original easycap dc60 design. Because it may be just be another cheap knockoff, I have doubts about the quality. For starters, I am unable to get mencoder or ffmpeg to receive the full 29.97/30 FPS for NTSC-M video feeds. The most I could get it up to was 26 or 27 FPS. Obviously this is going to cause some real trouble when it comes time to sync audio and video. The other issue is that the USB audio tends to have this annoying high pitched static like sound when you first open the audio device, and the audio was noticed to have a lag of up to 2 seconds compared to the video feed.

Other Thoughts: The audio and video sync issues cause a real issue when trying to use it to watch a realtime video game video feed. I tried everything to fix them, but it doesn't seem possible. The hardware seems to be problematic. Considering the problems I ran into, I have doubts about this products usability for other video sources as well. Perhaps I am just picky, but I would expect this device to at least be able to handle a video feed at its quoted full speed when I'm not even encoding it. And I know it isn't my computer's speed. It has 8 GB of memory and runs an AMD llano A8-3850 APU (2.9 ghz - 4 cores). So, this product is only 1 egg to me.

1 out of 5 eggsRip-off

Pros: NONE

Cons: Installed Driver from FILE, still does not work. W7 will not recognize even in compatibility mode. "Free" software does not come with license, making it useless.

Other Thoughts: I spent many hours trying to find a copy of a driver which would work, even trying the one Sabrent referred to me in a E-Mail. At the price I paid plus shipping I am out over thirty dollars, but I DO have a piece of gear which looks impressive in my junk pile. I may chop the ends off and use them to make an RCA extension cord, mainly because I can't find one online.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Good

Pros: None

Cons: -Can't register software because I wasn't given a registration key.
-Had to download freeware to even use the device.
-Delay between video and sound was just under 2 seconds.

Other Thoughts: You pay for what you get.

2 out of 5 eggsLow quality

Pros: It's quit mobile and small. USB may be a plus for you.

Cons: Embarrassingly low resolution that's not advertised on newegg. 720x480 is the highest resolution the device can do.

Other Thoughts: I'll be spending more money on my next purchase.
