5 out of 5 eggsWorks Good

Pros: So I hooked up a laptop hard drive to this so I could transfer all the data to another laptop. Works good.

Cons: Only issue was that the data cable goes out one side while the power cord goes in on the other side... this can be a bit awkward at times...

1 out of 5 eggsloose connector

Pros: works while connected

Cons: I found this pretty useless since the connector is such a loose fit on the drive contacts that the slightest movement causes it to disengage. I finally had to use tape to secure it to the drive.

5 out of 5 eggsOut of the Box to Done in less than 15 minutes

Pros: Very Simple. Attached power supply to connector, and was able to open up the old tower and connect to the old hard drive without even taking it out. Plugged the USB connector into my computer and copied 20 GB of files in about 13 minutes.

Cons: An on/off switch would be nice, but it's half the price of a hard drive docking bay at a nearby Best Buy: no complaints.

Other Thoughts: My computer is not on the USB 3.0 standard yet, but it's nice to think that should I get one that has 3.0 or upgrade my current computer's USB ports, it will be able to take advantage of the newer technology.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Most clients these days come to me with SATA hard drivers - works perfect with my USB 3.0 pci card.

Cons: Wish it came with more adapter types, but I knew what I was paying for.

Other Thoughts: I'd hate to start a flame war... But the review with one egg is ridiculous anyone with half a brain could tell you that there's no way you're going to power this type of SATA adapter with just a USB cable... Not with half way decent performance anyway... Also the "mystery button" isn't a mystery at all... It powers down the hard drive so you can safely remove it... People these days I swear..

1 out of 5 eggsNot as pictured

Pros: It does function as a SATA to USB 3.0 adapter

Cons: The delivered product is not as pictured here - the USB cable is not built into the case (plugs on both ends). The adapter will only run off the 12V adapter - no USB power. There's also an undocumented 'mystery button' on the case that doesn't seem to have any effect on operation.
