5 out of 5 eggsGood Product -- Worth the $

Pros: Worked out of the Box as advertised -- no issues.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: CD offered to download new version of the program off the website. Did so. Cloned my 256Gb SSD "C" drive to a new 512Gb SSD, swapped them out, and was up and running in minutes with no issues. Used the cable on a usb3 port, and then cleaned the old SSD for use as an extra data drive. Worked like a charm!

5 out of 5 eggsWorked well for me

Pros: Worked

Cons: None for me

Other Thoughts: I bought this in January when I discovered the drive cloning hardware/software combination I had been using for years did not work on my Dell Latitude 6520 with UEFI bios. Who knew? A tech I know recommended the Apricorn system and it has worked to clone 2 drives to Samsung SSDs. I had no problems with either the hardware or software, either with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports.

5 out of 5 eggsGood software for cloning

Pros: Cloned drive in my Dell Latitude 6520

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this system when I discovered that the software I had been using to clone drives did not work for UEFI drives. Who knew? I have used this hardware/software combination to clone 2 hard drives to Samsung SSDs and both times it has worked flawlessly. A computer tech I know that works for one of my clients uses Apricorn exclusively as well.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product-download their latest software

Pros: Good product for many systems.

Cons: Didn't work reliably on 2/3 laptops on USBN 3.0 ports, USB 2.0 ports worked flawless.
Backup software is slower than OEM software I have used from Intel(arconis) and Transcend, however it does work.
Device wasn't recognized on all systems using the included software, however, downloading their updated software(free) resolved the issue.
.

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice software and hardware package that will meet most users needs very nicely at a better price than you find at retail outlets.

1 out of 5 eggsAPRICORN ASW-USB3-25 USB3.0 to SATA Adapter

Pros: Product works as advertised.

Cons: This product had a rebate form, but I had inadvertently thrown out the packaging, and the UPC code.
I contacted Apricorn, and was referred to Customer Service Rep.
Left a message, but never received a return call.

POOR customer service, and will look elsewhere in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsApricorn HD Clone

Pros: Worked perfect. Cloned a 120gb SSD to a 750Gb SSD without an issue!

Cons: Was slower than I thought it would be. Took 1+20 to clone 108gb. About 23mb/sec. Using a USB 3.0? Oh well, still worked.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works on my Lenovo W520.

Cons: Doesn't work on my desktop workstation when I plug into either USB3 or USB2 slots.

Other Thoughts: The implementation of this adapter appears to be specific to certain specific USB implementation which is a sign of poor design. For example, my usb3 sticks work in both my machines.

5 out of 5 eggsBest tool for cloning a new drive

Pros: Works with almost any standard 2.5" HDD or SSD.

Fast - USB 3.0 gives 175+ MB/s sustained transfer speed.

Inexpensive - Great value whether or not you catch it with a coupon code and/or rebate.

Easy - the included software does its job well and I have never run into any cloning problems with around 50 uses so far and counting.

Robust build quality.

Cons: None. It's a vital tool for fast and simple drive cloning.

Other Thoughts: I have been using the Apricorn USB 3.0 SATA transfer cable for a year now (just received my second one in the mail from Newegg a couple days ago, so I can now work on more than 1 system simultaneously) and it has been flawless.

I use it and the included software for cloning when upgrading from a spindle HDD to an SSD, or a smaller SSD to a larger SSD, or reverting a laptop with an upgraded SSD back to it's original HDD (owner gets a newer laptop, wants to repurpose SSD, etc).

When using a USB 3.0 port, it only takes about 6-20 minutes to clone a drive. On USB 2.0, it will take up to 1.0-2.5 hours depending on amount of data on the source drive, but this is to be expected so, plan your time accordingly if you are using the older USB revision.

I just upgraded my system from a 128GB SSD boot drive (C:\ with around 95GB) and a 1TB spindle HDD (D:\ with about 190GB) to a larger 256GB SSD boot drive (C:\), a 480GB SSD (D:\), and repurposed the 1TB as a data backup drive in a 5.25" hot swap front bay. I cloned both drives in about 30 minutes total time. Zero complaints and everything works, and works faster than ever!
