5 out of 5 eggsWorks great with gnu/linux

Pros: Installation was effortless, and operation is completely uneventful. Got my gnu/linux diskless server up and running in no time.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I guess a mounting bracket would come in handy, but that wuld take all the fun away from drilling holes in my case :-)

5 out of 5 eggsBoots XP pro in 35 sec

Pros: using this with intel 945 atom mini itx board with Koutech IO-PSA420 32-bit PCI SATA II Controller Card RAID 0/1/0+1/5 JBOD . it takes 35 sec from turn on to complete load with XP pro. using Transcend 8GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS8GCF266 from newegg. It is being used as a 2 Tb server; 4 WD 500gb sata drives

Cons: None. Use nLite to image your windows setup. It makes things so much easier. Addonics website is VERY helpful.

Other Thoughts: I will use this combo Addonics , Transcend, Intel 945 Atom MoBo, in a small gaming comp. Yes it will run WOW @ low to mid settings using onboard video and 20gb drive to install the game on.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well with some CF cards

Pros: Works well with most UDMA capable CF cards, how ever we did find some exceptions. Great way to make your own cheap SSD HDD. Got it working in UDMA-4, 40+ MBps read and 25+ MBps write using a brand of CF not sold here.

Cons: Had issues with some CF cards not working in UDMA mode even though they should. These same cards worked in UDMA mode just fine using Addonics embedded CF to IDE adapter.

Other Thoughts: We have done extensive testing on making cheap SSD HDDs using CF adapters. Addonics has proven to be the most compatible CF adapters out of all the brands we have tested. I wish NewEgg would carry the rest of their CF adpater line-up. We had the most luck with Addonics embedded CF to IDE adapter, 99% compatibility rate with CF cards and motherboards tested, and smooth sailing UMDA support every time.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for SSD and reader

Pros: It works well with UDMA CF cards on T61.
You can use it for SSD for your laptop by using cheap CF cards compared to expensive SSD drive.

Cons: It didn't work well with MW-DMA mode CFs.
Heard it didn't save battery life actually.

Other Thoughts: Addonics has dual SATA CF adapter which support RAID.
I recommend dual SATA CF adapter instead of this one.

3 out of 5 eggsAnyone used this as a fast card reader?

Pros: Just wondering if anyone has used this for just reading cards to make a fast image workstation, not for SSD disk drives. What kind of speeds did you get?

Cons: none
