will this adapter connect to my pc & t.v.  as a secondary monitor  to play movies with picture & sound ? i checked to make sure it was the correct connection but i want to make sure it does what i need it to

Actually on the contrary sound can be played through the hdmi- it just depends on the pin pattern of the dvi adapter but I can play sound through the hdmi cable with this adapter jst have to make adjustment in the sound settings

Can this adapter be connected to the monitor OR the graphics card?  I've seen some adapters that can only connected to the graphics card.

Tis adapter connects to the card and then has a female cdmi connector that then allows the cdmi cable to be connected to the monitor or tv and if a tv the sound can actually play through to the tv without using external speakers
