1 out of 5 eggsNot the best

Pros: - It turns on

Cons: - The cable for the audio is short
- I have a 42inch screen and it doesn't even fit the full screen

Other Thoughts: Save yourself the money and don't waste it on this thing, I'd rather buy a whole laptop with HDMI than getting this thing, I had to buy a audio cable extender (male to female) because the it comes with is too short

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We apologize for your dissatisfaction with the quality of this adapter.

The adapter is designed to function with multiple systems and the orientation of their audio, USB, and VGA connections. We understand that not all systems are alike however the cable should provide enough length for many systems while still remaining compact.

Check that the resoluton of your HDTV is supported by the adapter. You can also find many troubleshooting tips for this device on our website.

Thank you for purchasing one of our products, and for leaving us your valuable feedback.

4 out of 5 eggsSYBA VGA to HDMI Converter

Pros: It works. I think HDTV I'm using as a monitor,, like all HDTV's?, prefer signals coming through an HDMI port. I think the picture is better than going through the PC port on a t.v.. The picture is as good as it's going to get on a 32" 720p HDTV.

You should remember to change the display from the highest one which the adapter seems initially set to be its default, to what is best for your t.v., which is usually 1360x768 for a 720p t.v.. I had over-scan when I first turned the computer on. With my computer I was really over-driving the audio, so I had to really crank down the audio because of original distortion. It was fine after that.

Connection was simple, my computer recognized there was a converter on it. The audio output wasn't far from the video connector on my desktop.

The converter seems to be well-built. It has indicator lights? It's in the back of my desktop, so if I'm not getting a picture I can easily determine what isn't working.

Long video/audio cable lengths are possible with HDMI besides.

Cons: Unfortunately, I had read the negative review. But I also seem to get the additional sound, whine? at the beginning of use rather than later on. I was rather surprised by this because I have a Syba USB to an audio in and audio out ports adapter, and there are no audio artifacts when using that..

I will think about using the audio system I bought for using with the computer and see if the picture and sound source are too far apart for me to do that, if the whine bothers me. It is less noise than the computer itself makes and iit's not loud at all, so doesn't interfere with wanted audio out of the computer. In my case it seems to get less the longer the computer is on.

I just as soon it didn't take up a USB socket for power, but for me that was no deal breaker.

Other Thoughts: To be fair, while I bought this awhile back, I only had it up and working since last night. So, if the whine goes away completely or get louder through the months--or just stays the same--I really don't know. I consider it a minor design flaw for my purposes. with a WiFi keyboard with trackpad, I find it a handy way to remotely control a computer.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I need

Pros: Easy to use, plug 'n play!

Cord lengths work great for me

Works beautifully

Cons: Every once in a while I hear a buzz from my TV speakers. I haven't nailed down a pattern yet but it's difficult to notice anyway.

Other Thoughts: With my laptop I'm able to plug everything in easily. Since buying this, I've been using my laptop so much I had to install an SSD and max out the RAM. There's nothing like derping around the internet on a giant TV from your couch.

2 out of 5 eggsOnce you hear it, you can't unhear it.

Pros: This little device does convert to 1080p very nicely. I noticed a huge improvement over using just a vga cable. I was actually very impressed with how well it works, even my roommates commented on it.

Cons: That being said, for short periods of use it works great. After using it for some time maybe 3 hrs straight, it starts making an odd noise. Once my roommate pointed out the noise, none of us could stop hearing it. it became extremely annoying and we ended up going back to the vga cable.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We are sorry to hear that the device was causing a strange strange noise to be emitted.

We would advise you to complete our RMA form for a replacement device.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: compact, well made. Audio mixed in with the HDMI worked great

Cons: could be a problem with short leads depending upon layout of individual laptop

Other Thoughts: I have a Lenovo T61 Thinkpad and had no way of viewing recorded videos on an HD TV. The T61 has only USBs and a VGA port. The SYBA converter worked perfectly for me. The T61 had the VGA and headphone port along with a USB all on the same side of the laptop so the short leads were not a problem. The only initial problem was no video on the TV. But like the instructions state - make sure that your TV is set correctly for the appropriate converter resolutions. It took only a minute or two to set the proper resolution and the converter worked great, excellent picture through the HDMI.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy

Pros: It's a nice idea.
Inexpensive.

Cons: Nothing automatic about it. Every time I hooked it up and turned the TV on, the screen had lots of flashing things on it but no picture. Several times, I saw my start screen 10 or more times across the screen in columns.

Other Thoughts: Could not get it to work on 2 laptops and 2 desktops to 2 different TVs. Even with email tech support, nothing that was suggested worked. I received an RMA to return but it would have cost $12+ for return shipping so it sits in the box unused. .I would not suggest buying this unit.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We are sorry to hear about the problems you have been having with the adapter.

Perhaps the VGA or HDMI connections had dust or other debris which caused the incorrect display. Try cleaning out the connections and, retest the device.

Also check the the resolution for the tv was properly set.

YOu may need to enable your PC inputs through the television settings.
