4 out of 5 eggsWorked as expected

Pros: Needed something to connect a mic to use in games, this did the trick. Feels a little flimsy, but have not had any issues.

Cons: Be gentle, not the most solid of construction.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Provides decent quality audio playback / recording through a USB port.
Works without trouble on linux (Ubuntu 13.04).
Extra buttons to control volume, mute/unmute (playback and mic) are nice.

Cons: (Given the price point, I almost don't even take these into consideration, but they are there, mostly for point of comparison)
Audio quality is a little lacking in lower frequencies (as compared to basic motherboard audio), but not bad for a headset or such or if you don't need or care about bass.
Buttons are kind of hard to push.
The stenciling on the buttons was off-center and looked sloppy (not to mention with decent use will just rub off anyway).
Flashing green LED to let you know it's connected and working. Doesn't drive me crazy, probably because I'm already crazy, but it is a bit excessive.

Other Thoughts: Motherboard audio stopped working (still havn't figured out why, can't RMA without a replacement prior to or a length of time when I don't need it). This was a good workaround. Have different applications split between headset through this device and HDMI audio through graphics card on linux, nothing's given me problems yet. Kind of wondering if you can hook up like 10 of these to a single computer and whether linux/windows will recognize them and be able to control them seperately (and correctly), might come in handy in the future.

Also in reference to the flashing green LED: It would make a lot more sense to make it flash when it's NOT working correctly, it makes more sense for something to flash when it's malfunctioning, and it will likely get on someone's nerves as opposed to a solid light (haven't seen it malfunction yet, or if it cares to tell you, but I would assume if it did anything it would change the LED). A nice solid light for working properly would make more sense in my opinion, or even different colors to tell when connected, not connected, and not working right or such. If its a bother, could just take the thing out, cover it with electrical tape, or it might burn out.
Not a con though, I almost never notice it even with my computer right in my face most of the time.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Does what it is advertised to do. Pluged it in and win.7 X64 recognized it and downloaded the drivers no hassle. Just not exactly sure what the mini cd included is for. Didn't even put in my drive for fear it would corrupt something. Tossed it. Rather small, which is good I guess. Doesn't put a lot of load on the USB port in which it is plugged.

Cons: Green LED on the face flashes the entire time it is active. Why? I know it is working.I can hear the music.
Xera 7.1 sound program doesn't work with Win7. Only works with XPSP3 and Vista SP1. Gotta start reading the fine print closer.Knocked off 1 egg for the 7.1 not working with every OS.

Other Thoughts: Seems to have an amplifier of some sort in it because I usually run the on-board audio of my MSI 870-G45 at 32% for my general listening. With this installed I now have to keep it down around 6%!! or my tinitis really starts acting up badly. Any more than 12 and it starts making my ears actually hurt. Don't use external speakers because of my crybaby neighbor.
