1 out of 5 eggsGets it done.

Pros: USB ports and bracket are pretty sturdy. No bendy action.

Cons: 20 pin header is abysmal. It doesn't look like it was even cut right. For this price it should fit snugly in the socket. I feel like if my case gets shaken too hard it will come out halfway. The little nub to lock it to the motherboard is like... half on, half gone. I dunno.

The cable itself is way too bulky. The blue color fit my case and is nice looking but it's pretty huge. Don't expect any magic cable tying to save you from a huge blue cable streaking the front of your motherboard. 18" at this gauge is just way too short even in a HTPC.

Other Thoughts: Wish I would have gotten something else for half the price. I needed extra rear USB 3.0 ports fast. Oh well. Live and learn.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

This device was designed to fit a wide variety of motherboards.

When seating the header into your motherboard be sure to align the parts together correctly to ensure the best possible fit.

2 out of 5 eggsOK, but . . .

Pros: It works.

Cons: Flimsy.

Other Thoughts: The reason that I gave it only two stars: Inserting a USB cable into the Syba sockets takes a relatively large force, and the bracket metal is flimsy and flexible, making insertion of a USB cable a challenging proposition. I bent the bracket to try and “pre-stress” the bracket to resist the insertion force, which helped.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsUgh

Pros: USB 3.0 header thing. Great for open air rigs and cases that don't have front panel USB 3.0.

Cons: Freaking enormous header plug that doesn't even plug in solidly. For what this costs, it's an enormous inconvience. Hope you don't have any cards near the bottom of your motherboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

The USB 3.0 20 pin plug has a generic design that would support USB 3.0 headers.

The plug should be snugged into the USB 3.0 header and locked in tight enough to be plugged in solidly.

Thank you for leaving us your valuable feedback.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Well built, fits perfectly at both ends, delivers speeds as expected for USB 3.0

Cons: Ummm.... It isn't black?

Other Thoughts: Everything in my case is black, but this is blue. I don't have a window, so I could really care less. That's why no eggs were actually deducted. I don't consider a touch of OCD to be reason enough to smash eggs.

I have a Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 in an Antec Three Hundred Two case. The case's front port assembly was junk, and the replacement from Antec was also junk (literally). I bought this so I could at least utilize all four USB 3.0 ports that my motherboard supports.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Took off the bracket and used them in my Zalman Z11 case as an adapter for my two front usb 3.0 ports. Now i have 8 usb 3.0 ports instead of 6 WOOT! Working excellently!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as designed!

Pros: - Perfect length (18”) for most case applications
- Pretty blue
- 2 connectors
- Can remove bracket for internal use
- Has a bracket for rear of case use
- Nice touch for case manufactures that don’t include the front 3.0 USB header cable

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: - I ordered this cable to use in my Corsair Obsidian 650D case. The front 3.0 USB ports have two cables that you can route and plug into the rear MB connectors or use something like this to plug into the internal MB 20-pin header connector. I didn’t want to tie up my only two rear 3.0 ports so I opted to use this cable. With the case I have I could pretty much hide most of the cabling behind the back panel. Anyway, nice addition to my rig!

- Case: Corsair Obsidian 650D
- MB: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO
- CPU: Intel i5 3570K
- HS: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
- RAM: G.SKILL Ares 1600 (4x4 GB)
- GPU: EVGA GTX 660Ti
- PSU: ULTRA X4 1050w
- O/S: Windows 7 Home Premium
- HD: WD Black 1TB x 2
- DVD Drives: ASUS x 2

5 out of 5 eggsgreat upgrade

Pros: Cable long enough to mount in my LianLi mITX case - it replaced front panel USBs (and upgraded them to USB 3.0 at the same time), nice. Pictures of the product made my decision easy - I could see the layout and the fact that ports were attached to the mounting brackets with screws (that I could remove to mount in my case).

Cons: Just like any USB 3.0, cables are thicker and stiffer than USB 2.0 it replaced - this may make it difficult to route in tight computer cases

Other Thoughts: Overall very satisfied - it mounted easily and I was able to regain front USB functionality (and upgrade to USB 3.0) at minimal cost.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Very nice. Seems well put together, and excellent materials.
Perfect for adding more 3.0 slots.

Cons: wish it had a half height bracket, even though i don't need one, it would make it better i think.

Other Thoughts: I took the bracket off, and used this to add internal ports for my USB flash drive for boot on Freenas. But will work great to add usb 3.0 ports!

5 out of 5 eggsRequired for Corsair Obsidian Series 650D

Pros: Works... Feels like a quality product... And is fairly inexpensive.

Easy to route internally in a case, through various openings.

Motherboard plug fits solidily on the Asus P9X79 Pro board.

Cons: None, really.

Other Thoughts: Because the Corsair Obsidian Series 650D case does NOT have the proper internal cabling for connecting the case USB 3.0 ports to the motherboard, you have two choices: Use something like this cable, or route the USB 3.0 case cables outside of the case (thru the one of the two water cooling case openings on the backside) and then plugging the 2 calbels into the motherboard external USB 3.0 plugs. So much for Corsair being a "forward thinking" company.

But, this product does work. Its easy to disassemble the bracket.

Cabling was a little bulkier than I imagine, but this ordinarily wouldn't be a problem.
