1 out of 5 eggsNot for Sony hamdycam with dv-in

Pros: Wasted my money and time. Does connect fine in one direction on camera. Plugged in one way nothing happens reverse and the camera says dv-in.

Cons: This is a failure of most firewire not bi-directional.

Other Thoughts: Not even Sony understands why people can't transfer video to the computer. Leaving me and so many others on a search for that magic card, cable, software, driver, or OS. I believe the answer is the cable must be bi-directional 1394. the Sony handycam needs dv-in and out on some models. The camera can be controlled from the software provided by Sony with the camera. I bought a 1394 from another site that stated it was bi-directional if it works I'll post again. newegg needs to list this.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: - It's cheap
- It works

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Used this to tether my Canon 1Ds Mark II camera to my laptop. Worked fine the very first time without any hiccups.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked great as soon as I plugged it into my camcorder and computer

Cons: None. I'd say the length can be short BUT it is listed under 3 ft.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind of the length it's listed under. Other than that, it should work fine as long as your device is properly installed on your computer

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Does SATA, SATAII. Transfer speeds at 3Gbps. Using it for an external Seagate hard drive.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: color options would be nice, but red will have to do.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work at all

Pros: Small size, durable, great price.

Cons: I tried connecting my Sony camcorder to my laptop, which I've done many times with other 4pin to 4pin cables, but this one just didn't work. I made sure it wasn't my 1394 firewire card by connecting another cable, which worked fine.

Other Thoughts: Both ends are about a millimeter longer than other 4pin ends. Don't know if this is a factor or not.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Needed an extra cable to get video to my laptop from my camcorder and got tired of disconnecting the one from my desktop. For $4, the decision was made.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My video finally makes its way to my network, now that I can plug my camera into my laptop without babysitting the camera in the office.
