1 out of 5 eggsWire Guage Fraud???

Pros: Moulded connectors are less likely to break apart

Cons: Received Cables are not as advertised on their website

Other Thoughts: The label on the cable says:

USB SHIELDED HIGH SPEED CABLE 2.0 REVISION 30AWG/1P+28AWG/2C E314459 AWM 2725 80 C 30V VW-1

But according to the the specs from the website (http://www.link-depot.com/portfolio/usb-micro/), the conductors for the power should be 22AWG:

....
Proper current to your USB device via Heavy-duty 22AWG power wire
...

I specifically purchased it based on the manufacturer's specifications as there's a huge difference between 28AWG and 22AWG in carrying the current (2.1A) needed to charge tablets and smartphones in a decent amount of time.

Not sure if this is a QC issue or if Link Depot or (most likely) their suppliers are engaging in outright fraud. Shielding makes the cable appear "thick" but that does not imply quality, as Link Depot touts that in their home page.

In the end, this would be an undeserved black eye for NewEgg.

1 out of 5 eggsWire Gauge not as advertised?

Pros: Connectors appear to be of good quality

Cons: Not sure if we are being ripped off with inferior cable, disguised by shielding

Other Thoughts: I ordered 4 of the MUSB-3 Cables from Newegg and received it today. When I looked at the label on the cable, it says the following:

USB SHIELDED HIGH SPEED CABLE 2.0 REVISION 30AWG/1P+28AWG/2C E314459 AWM 2725 80 C 30V VW-1

But according to the the specs from the website (http://www.link-depot.com/portfolio/usb-micro/), the conductors for the power should be 22AWG, so I'm wondering if the cables are mislabeled or if they are indeed 30AWG for data and 28AWG for power - this makes a huge difference as 28AWG wires cannot carry the 2.1A current needed to adequetely charge modern smartphones and tablets. I made the purchase specifically for the thicker power conductors (as specified) and feel as if I and other NewEgg customers have been deceived with inferior cables being sold as quality cables.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what I need it to

Pros: Good build quality, connectors are nice and sturdy, cable is tough but flexible.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I use this cable with my phone because the one my phone came with is being monopolized as my main means of charging my phone. I've tried, and this cable can do that too, but I just use this for data transfer.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality

Pros: None

Cons: Purchased two just over a month ago, but just started using them. One in the car, one in the house. Neither one will stay securely connected to my phone, especcially when trying to charge it while driving.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Charging, Too thick at plugin.

Pros: It's Black. It does trickle some current through to the phone.

Cons: This cable will only push 1Amp through it, when a 2.4Amp charger is pushing it. For such a thick cable, I'm really surprised. The StarTech cable pushed 1.8 Amps through on the same charger/phone, and it was very thin.

It also was a challenge to plug into the phone, considering it has an otterbox commuter case on it. It was a bit too thick by the micro usb plug.

3 out of 5 eggsyou get what you pay for

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Of the three I bought only one is working, so probably it was not a wise decision to select the cheapest cable

1 out of 5 eggsVery poor quality

Pros: No Pros

Cons: The major purpose of buying this cable was to charge my electronics, I was not too concerned about data transfer rate. However, this cable falls way below acceptable quality/performance. I ordered two of these cables, one of them did not charge any of my electronics right from first usage. The second cable was working well for a day now, and its performance is acting up as well, charges sometimes and does not sometimes. Deeply disappointed with my purchase and regret my choice.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Cheap and simple.

Cons: Bought two, one has a poor connection. Corrupts images from my phone about 20% if the time. Not worth the price if you can find one of better quality.
