5 out of 5 eggsGood cables

Pros: These cables are usually too pricey, but were reduced and a good deal with the shipping. The round cables work best, and easier to route in our case; the length is ideal.

Cons: A bit pricey when not on sale; otherwise none!

Other Thoughts: I've loved round cables for many years; the flat ones might be in vogue, but round just works better when you have to tie them up with other round cables. As for technical specs, the ends are a bit large, and if there are a lot of stacked connections on your board, ai bit of trimming of the excess plastic on the grips will make multiple cables easier to plug in/stack. This is something the design and manufacturing folks could take care of quickly if they wanted. Still, the connections are solid and the data seems to shoot through. Don't know exactly how fast, but as fast as anything else I've ever connected to a board. (close to warp-speed captain:) If you can get these on sale, buy 'em!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Cable

Pros: Cable itself is great. Flexible enough to route where you want and having a latch is wonderful. Good cable length for most cases as well.

Cons: Latch mechanism did not allow an additional cable to be stacked with it on the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Not really a con since it's partially my fault but the connector broke when I tried using it on my current build. Stacked 2 2.5" drives on a 3.5" adapter and it pushed the cable to the point of splitting the connector end.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent cable

Pros: Great cable length, long enough to run through cable management without worrying about losing bandwidth. Solid connections to drives and the black color blends in with the background of most cases.

Cons: The cable itself is a little too rigid, this is especially problematic at the neck at each end, where, if you need to turn the cable, it will bend the connector in that direction as well.

Other Thoughts: To remedy the bending connector problem I used tie downs to hold the cable at a point on the case, gave the cable slack in the direction opposite of which it was being run, and secured the cable in place. This will ensure that you don't break connectors as you move parts about your build.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks, but could be beter

Pros: Decent design, works as intended, looks better than some cables I have.

Cons: Doesn't always want to lock in to my solid state drives very well, but I've never had one come out or anything.

Other Thoughts: Could use some improvement on the connector design, as other have stated on the clip area the round thing can interfere with some motherboards and using more than one of these cables.

2 out of 5 eggsBad design

Pros: Cables are soft and flexible and have a positive click on latch. Easier to move and route than the flat cables I have.

Cons: You can not use two of these cables together on a standard double stack SATA connector on a motherboard due to the large round end at the base of the plug. The round base is so big it hits the cable next to it. I have been able to use this cable with a flat cable in the double stack configuration.

Also the cable has an attached (small) tag identifying it as a SATA III. I would much rather have this as a part of the plug or on the cable so I didn't have the tag sticking out.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It's very flexible and locks in place firmly after trimming the knobs from the connectors. It looks like a SATA cable. It's black. It works.

Cons: The round knob molded on the connector does interfere when installing in adjacent vertical SATA3 ports. It didn't come with an Exacto knife to trim the connector knobs. It didn't increase my WEI, it's still 7.9

Other Thoughts: The knobs on the connector prevented the lower cable to SATA3-0 on the motherboard from clicking into place. I trimmed the knob with an Exacto knife and everything latches into place. It's much softer and more flexible than the flat SATA3 cables that shipped with my motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsbad cable(s)

Pros: Round, locking, flexible, SATA III.

Cons: Flexible must be synonymous with poor quality control. Bought to replace generic, flat, non-locking cables and my My Adaptec hardware raid controller refused to start. Would hang when it attempted to load the controller BIOS and never displayed the attached drives. Replaced with the old generic cables and worked fine. Given one prior review about a bad cable I am guessing that one or more of these cables is faulty. Not going to bother figuring out which one so I sent the whole works back which newegg promptly refunded.
