3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Longer cable; works fine if you're gentle with it.

Cons: The way the metal connectors are embedded in the plastic makes them not very sturdy. Bumping one of them bent the connector sideways, and it no longer works.

2 out of 5 eggsMisleading claim/Incorrect specification!!!

Pros: Works to charge my LG smart phone but cannot charge at the same rate as the OE charging cable. Charges at around 1.2A maximum (comparable to a 1A charger). My OE charging cable charges at the maximum 1.8A with my LG 1.8A charger. So this cable charges about 50% slower than OE LG 20AWG cable which means that it takes about 50% longer to fully charge my smartphone. Cable does appear to be well built and connector clicks into the USB charging port firmly and stays secure.

Cons: "Proper current to your USB device via Heavy-duty 22AWG power wire". This statement on the Newegg specification page is TOTALLY FALSE. The specifications on the wire jacket I received show that this cable is 28AWG + 26AWG. 1st number is the gage of the data cable wires. 2nd number is the gage of the power lead wires. 26AWG power wire cannot deliver anywhere near the current flow of 22AWG or 20AWG power wire. If I had known this cable had 26AWG power leads I would not have bought it because I already knew that it could not charge anywhere near the same rate as my OE 20AWG cable.

Other Thoughts: Newegg gave me a refund so I am still happy but they have not removed the misleading specification on their website for over three years (see previous reviews). The manufacturer product page is also showing the SAME INCORRECT AND MISLEADING INFORMATION which is probably where the egg got it from. I was looking for a longer charging cable that would also fast charge my phone. This cable cannot deliver proper current to the USB port because the gage of the power lead wires is too small (only 26AWG). AWG stands for American Wire Gage. The smaller the #, the fatter the wire is and the more current can flow. This cable paired with my OE LG 1.8A charger will not charge any faster than around 1.2A (comparable to being used with a 1A charger). There does not seem to be any 20AWG or 22AWG phone charging cables available in the aftermarket currently so I cannot recommend any as comparable to OE charging cables with 20AWG wire. Best I could find is 24AWG charging cables on another reseller website for the same price.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's... a cable

Pros: Feels sturdy, but flexible. It properly connects my phone to the charger, or my computer.

I have yet to test it's time travelling abilities.

Cons: Does not produce gold.

2 out of 5 eggsLong enough

Pros: It's long enough to walk around my room while charging my phone.

Cons: The plug does not stay in my phone very well, and you need to hold it in place while moving.

Other Thoughts: My work prohibits me from plugging my phone into my computer, and the closest wall outlet is too far for my standard cable that came with my HTC EVO, so this is able to reach the wall outlet. It's ok when my phone is just sitting on my desk, but any movement, and it will fall out.

Pros: Long

Cons: connection got loose at 2 months, which is past RMA now I gotta deal with mfg for $3.50.... I don't think so I'll get one from a different mfg.

1 out of 5 eggsVendor Lied in the Specs

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: I bought this to replace a scrawny USB cable attached to an accessory powered by the USB port. This accessory acted flaky and I strongly suspected it was underpowered--starved by the skinny power wires inside its cable.

I bought this cable because it specifically said: "Heavy-duty 22AWG power wire." THAT IS A LIE! The power wires inside this cable are the same as the data: 28 AWG. THIS IS NOT A HEAVY-DUTY CABLE.

If you need a 10' USB cable for a wimpy power load, then this may be okay. If you need a heavy-duty cable then THIS IS NOT THE CABLE FOR YOU.

NOTE: power wires are 28 AWG, not 22 as stated in the description.

Other Thoughts: I checked the packaging, which says "MUSB-10" so NewEgg didn't substitute some other cable.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a cable

Pros: Connectors are tight. Works fine with no hitches.

Cons: I foolishly failed to do some math for this. When using this cable to charge a cell phone via an AC adapter, the current is attenuated too far to allow the "fast" charge mode - it charged at the same rate as the USB interface on a laptop.

So if you're going to use this to charge a power-hungry phone, beware.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price

Pros: Does what it says for a great price. The added length is a huge advantage

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I don't use it as often as my other cable, bought this one as a back up/for trips but it has worked well
