1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Product

Pros: USB

Cons: Terrible drivers. Flickering and artifacting on second monitor using Vista and black screen locked me out of Win 8 all together and needed a system restore. Tried multiple drivers and all didn't work. Just a bad product.

Other Thoughts: I was desperate to get my dual monitor to work because I couldn't find the write adapter to fit my second video card pin slot, and went with this off of Frye employee...nothing but a headache with Vista, and made my Win 8 unacceptable, needing system restore.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

Pros: worked for a few days only

Cons: Monitor turns off and flashes and freezes

Other Thoughts: great concept but does not really work, was only running microsoft powerpoint on two monitors but the monitor keeps turning off tried multiple monitors thinking it may be the monitor itself but to no avail.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst product, do not buy

Pros: worked for about 10 minutes

Cons: unreliable hardware, and software, horrible tech support. No help, no resolution, and they blame you for the product not working, instead of resolving the problem.

4 out of 5 eggsIt Works!

Pros: It works, at least for webpages and office work.

Cons: Not usable for games or video.

Trying to play Windows Media Player on the second display will cause a blue screen on command, so I just don't use it for video.

5 out of 5 eggsSIIG USB to VGA adaptor

Pros: easy software install. Hardware is simply a USB conection. Easy Peasy - Lemon squeezy

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Used on older XP Pro workstations with USB 2.0 ports. Worls great with no noticable video delays at all.

1 out of 5 eggsWHAT A NIGHTMARE!

Pros: Nothing to list. If I could give this piece of JUNK 0 eggs, I would!

Cons: THIS THING IS USELESS! I have spent 2 business days trying to get this junk to work in XP, to no avail Their CD sucks, their driver on the website sucks, and the driver that they e-mailed me made things EVEN WORSE! I will be immediately asking for a refund, and if you're smart, you'll do the same!

Other Thoughts: Worst investment I have EVER made.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great - new drivers offer full moveability

Pros: I saw the comments about not being able to reposition the monitor but the latest driver from SIIG's website allow full relocatability - left, right, above, below (at least with Windows 7 pro). It just shows up as another monitor in the normal Windows 'change display resolution'.
The other pro is, well, the way you can add third monitor to a laptop after the internal screen and normal external monitor port are used up.

Cons: It is rather slow and windows jerk when being moved around but since I use it for full screen spreadsheet and documents this isn't really a problem. Once you have a 2D app window in position it's OK.

Can't be used as an emergency video card when there's a problem with the built in video because the driver doesn't kick in until the system is booted up.

Other Thoughts: Don't even bother with the driver version on the included CD, just download the latest from SIIG. Be sure to run the install routine before plugging the thing in!

1 out of 5 eggsNO

Pros: Would be just "okay" if it worked.

Cons: After initial Install, pc blue screened 4x per day. Called/Emailed/Chatted with Siig and they first said "oops, try this new driver." After that made the product work but did not remove blue screening, contacted Siig again, while pleasant, this time it was "return, as it appears defective." Just give me something that works.

Other Thoughts: Look elsewhere unless you want to waste time. I'm running Athlon II, Windows 7, Asus (unit is about 1month old)...!...

2 out of 5 eggsOK - if you're flexible

Pros: Adds an additional display at resolutions up to 1680x1050. Fairly simple to install.

Cons: MAXIMUM one device per computer, cannot control "positioning" of the display (it puts it to the left of the primary display).

Other Thoughts: Requires a reboot to initiate.

The fact that I couldn't control the positioning of the display was a killer for me. I have 3 displayes, left to right, with the primary in the middle. I wanted to a 4th on top. Couldn't do it with this. And because I'd have to radically alter my setup and switch which monitor is placed where (because two of the four operate at resolutions higher than this device supports), I had to return it.

2 out of 5 eggsNot entirely customizable

Pros: Gives you a second low-res display via usb port.

Cons: You can not re-arrange where the second display is situated. It shows up on the left or the right, as it wishes, you can not drag it to the other side or above/below your main desktop if that is where you want it.
