4 out of 5 eggsVery nice device, but not perfect

Pros: - It works very well
- Very nice picture
- Very easy to setup
- Supported a pretty high resolution; I think I am running 1680x1050 or something like that.
- Worked much better with 16-bit colors (not as glitchy), which was an easy fix

Cons: - Frame rate issues (a bit too slow), especially with 32-bit colors
- Noticeably glitchy on 32-bit colors
- I don't think this device supports the 1920x1080 resolution (1080 HD), but I can't be sure...

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice device if you need another monitor. Please beware that this might not be good for gaming or HD video because of frame rate issues. The frame rate issues were much less noticeable when I dropped the colors from 32-bit to 16-bit (since there is less info travelling over the USB connection). I think I am using USB 2.0, but I will have to check. Overall, this is an awesome device, and I would highly recommend!!!

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not support DisplayLink

Pros: Cheap, small device. Drivers were simple to install, and simply required a reboot. Immediately worked with the monitor I bought it for. Flash video stream from TwitchTV displayed fine, with minimal distortion.

Cons: When I started the driver installer, it warned that the driver for my MIMO monitor would be incompatible. MIMO uses DisplayLink, which my research had said that this device used as well, so it seemed odd.

After installing the driver, of course, the SIIG display worked just fine. But also as to be expected, the MIMO display stopped working. So, I decided to try re-installing the MIMO's DisplayLink drivers. They installed and ran fine, with both the MIMO and the SIIG displays working perfectly, until I rebooted my computer and got a bluescreen. Of course, this wasn't that surprising given that it gave me a warning about it.

Other Thoughts: My main complaint here is the incompatibility. I bought this as a cheap alternative to replacing the video card powering my two main displays which only has the ability to control two monitors at once, but if it's going to disable another monitor to do this, it's useless to me. My goal was to have all four of my monitors work at once, yet this product failed to help me meet this goal.

If your circumstances don't match mine, this probably wont' be a problem for you.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks very well

Pros: Install the drivers, connect the device to a monitor and plug it into a USB port on your PC and it just works! It's been 100% reliable and trouble free for me. (Win7 32bit, 4GB RAM, Intel quad core)

Cons: I have Windows set to blank my screens after two hours. Sometimes after the screens have been blanked I need to power off the display connected to the Siig USB to Video device, then power it back on, in order to get it to "wake up".

5 out of 5 eggsWorks very well

Pros: This was a simple and inexpensive way for me to add a third display as I already have two monitors connected to my video card's two outputs. The diver install was easy (Win7 Pro 32 bit). I have not used the third display for vidoe playback or intense gaming but for office applications, web browsing and the like it has been flawless.

Cons: No problems noted

Other Thoughts: I paid $29.95 on sale and thought I could not go wrong at that price. I was right.

4 out of 5 eggsUSB Video, huh?

Pros: I am a Computer Science Graduate with considerable background in Multi-screen usage. I bought this device to see how well it performed for both low level functions, and high level functions (such as video and games).

Gives you another video port. For me, I use two laptops, and one of those laptops lost it's ability to output on the VGA output on its card, so this was a big help.

Using three screens now with an old school laptop. Being a multi-monitor junkie, I have to say this is awesome.

Cons: Does have some raw power issues. Can do video, but glitchy. Doesn't support the resolutions I would want.

For this next one, I should add a disclaimer. I am a video game programmer, who has developed a way to handle multi screen gaming rather well (on PC). When I put my game on the USB monitor, there were major lag issues, and there were framerate issues.

This is not a gaming tool. You will need to buy a real graphics card to handle that sort of thing or just put it on your main graphics card monitors.

Other Thoughts: Going from one to two screens is completely awesome. However, going from two to three screens does not add as much benefits. It is better, don't get me wrong, but the space in between screens makes you have to organize your work.

Overall, this is an amazing product for work or standard applications. Once you get into the graphic intensive stuff, like video, you better put that on one of the main displays.
