SIIG JU-SA0712-S1 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 to SATA 3Gb/s Docking

Pros: Enclosure design is excellent... The internal electronics are JUNK...

Cons: Product was NOT Beta Tested apparently and is evident with any usage... Intitially refused to power on even after using other correct 12vdc 1.8amp power supplies... Eventually did, but have had continous issues while using...
Kept displaying an ERROR message that the HHD needed to be FORMATTED when in fact it had been and works properly in any other Dock or Computer... This occured after being used for a short while and sometimes immediately after power on... Also, the procedure to use this product is adverse and RISKY vs standard methods used be ALL other Docks etc that allow connection of a HHD / SSD externally to a computer via USB / eSATA etc...

Other Thoughts: I would RETURN this piece of JUNK, but it's not worth the S&H to do so, and I seriously doubt a replacement would be any better than this one... I will NOT purchase another SIIG branded product... On a Scale of 1-5, I give this one a MINUS 10...

Pros: Looks good. Drives fit snugly. Easy setup. Cables included. Cheap.

Cons: Speed connected via USB 3, with a 3TB new Seagate drive, is slower than my other SATA external drives via USB 2. I also have Seagate 3TB Backup Plus and the speed via USB 3 is at least twice as fast.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why the slow data transfer but kind of kills the deal for a USB 3 cradle.

Pros: Looks good and solid . Would be happy if it worked .

Cons: Recieved the dock today . Windows picked it right up . Thing is it keeps losing and finding it every 10 to 15 seconds . Continuous disconnecting . Longest its stayed on without restting is about 15 seconds . I have several usb 3.0 enclosures and they work well , never disconnecting even after days . Will have to rma this and I would not recommend this particular model to anyone .

Other Thoughts: SIIG needs to watch and answer feedback here like Rosewill and some other manufacturers and vendors do and address these issues .

Pros: I had high expectations with the SIIG name. I have used many of their devices in the past with no problems. This unit, like the others have said below me, likes to constantly reset - it will connect for a few seconds, then the drive I had inserted in the unit would go offline. Then it would come back on, telling me that the hard drive needed to be formatted, and that is not the case. I am using it on a Asus P8P67 motherboard on the blue 3.0 USB connection.

Cons: The whole reason I got this was that I wanted to take advantage of the USB 3 speeds. It does not connect long enough to even copy one file. Save your money, folks. This one is a strike-out - I would not recommend it as it is a waste of money.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps a firmware update can make it more usable? SIIG, what do you say?

Pros: Nice Solid USB 2 HD dock. Works well in USB 2 with my WD black 1 TB drive.

Cons: Works on my MB (new bridge Z77) Gigabyte GA-Z77MX-D3H (w/ i5 3570k cpu) on USB 2 ports. When I connect to the USB 3 port, it drops connection every few seconds and is unusable. So Siig should advertise this as a USB 2 dock, not a USB 3 dock. There is some incompatibility with current South bridge chips. If you have a Z77 chipset MB, I would expect that the USB 3.0 functionality will not work.

Pros: Handy Dandy USB 3.0 HD access in a pinch for a file or data

Cons: Don't be in a hurry, the bottle necks hurt is dandy dock. The mini board in this dock is a bottleneck.

Other Thoughts: It got real fast in my REVO SSD RAID drive computer plugged into the main board bus. Win 7 claimed 55 minutes to move file but this computer did it in 3 minutes. WOW

Pros: Smooth skin

Cons: It hurts a lot! Maybe I just need to keep trying. I should of got one with a massager.

Pros: It worked in USB 2 mode only

Cons: Will not work in USB 3 mode, as other reviewers have indicated it will not stay connected. First tried in Window 7 and then in Windows 8 with no luck.

Other Thoughts: Started the RMA preprocess and found that it would cost $10.00 to send it back so I will be keeping it for a paper weight. I have always had good luck with Newegg but if they are going to let manufacture's dump their junk on daily special as other online stores have done I will be doing business elsewhere.

Pros: This is a nice screen protector. It's thick durable and a perfect fit. It is well worth the price to protect such a large investment for the camera.

Cons: None so far and I doubt there ever will be. It's a perfect fit with a adhesive that holds it on tight.
