1 out of 5 eggsWon't Last Long

Pros: Was easy to install.

Cons: Thing only lasted like a month (31 days to be exact) as the others had posted. I bought a ASUS VG24QE 144Hz monitor with this cable and the cable just crapped out on me. I also get the same "DISPLAYPORT LINK FAILURE" with no other resolve other than to replace the cable with something else. Newegg won't be able to exchange/return since its over a day. Bleh.

2 out of 5 eggsWeird issues, eventually stopped working

Pros: Over the course of its use (about a year) it usually seemed to work fine (w/ some random issues).

Cons: For a long time my computer would kind of "forget" that anything was plugged into the display, & basically change my resolution to 640x480 on its own, so I always had to manually fix that. Annoying but not a deal breaker.

More recently I would completely lose the display after the computer was on for a few minutes. Plugging in a DVI cable I'd see Windows 8 displaying a "DisplayPort Link Failure" error.

I used to think it was a driver issue, or Window 8, but now I have a strong suspicion the problem was the cable all along. Thinking this cable isn't wired to DisplayPort's specs. Many cheap DisplayPort cables apparently connect pin 20 (DP_PWR) when they're not supposed to.

Other Thoughts: Was using this to connect a Dell U2410 Monitor to a AMD Radeon HD 7970.

Incidentally the DisplayPort website only lists one manufacturer (Accell) that bothered to go through certification on their cables. You can Google around for the DisplayPort pin 20 DP_PWR issue to read up on it.

Also read this may be less an issue w/ Nvidia cards, Nvidia cards try to detect miswired DisplayPort cables w/ pin 20 & send the stray power into a power sink, supposedly.

Rage3d.com has great info on this!

Bottom line, check w/ the manufacturer if they're connecting pin 20 on their DisplayPort cables to avoid problems.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Work Anymore.

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Stopped working after a month or so. Booted my computer up just now, and started getting an error saying "DisplayPort Link Failure". And my 144Hz monitor recieves no DisplayPort input signal now. Guess I'll have to find a nicer one...

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: the other one works

Cons: the mini display port end doesn't connect properly to the graphics card in either plugin, but similar cable just a bit longer works perfectly fine in both mini display ports on the graphics card

Other Thoughts: will try to RMA the cable and replace it for another one

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad eh!

Pros: Very Cheap, does the job well

Cons: I don't see any con

Other Thoughts: I bought monster DP cable for $90 at a local store. I compared this one and they're pretty much the same. So I decided to return the monster and settled with this one. Don't waist your money on monster unless you find it very cheap. $11 = $90.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap Throughput

Pros: Works as advertised. Nice flexible jacket. Ships with protective dust caps on the connectors.

Cons: The fullsize display port side is a tad pia when you want to unlock/unplug it but that is more of a gripe with the connector format not this particular cable as it is as good as any I have tried.

Other Thoughts: Great cable that does what you need without you having to ever consider it again.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work

Pros: You can use it as a noose when you give up trying to get your monitor to be recognized.

Cons: I bought two, neither worked. Monitor recognizes it's connected to display port but gets no signal. Computer doesn't see monitor connected to display port at all.

Other Thoughts: I believe the cables are wired incorrectly. There is a pin that is not supposed to be connected for most monitors and this can cause issues. There is only one place to buy cheap cables that work, and it isn't here.

5 out of 5 eggsDell U2412M to Radeon 6970 Mini DisplayPort

Pros: Worked on first hook up. I tried an active VGA to MiniDP converter first which seemed to work just fine for about a day until I started receiving SYNC errors. With this new cable from SIIG I have not received any SYNC errors and the picture is brilliant!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wish I would have tried this first to avoid the frustration with the VGA to MiniDP converter that I first tried

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: works, 1st time using these port

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I saw reviews of lesser priced cables and decided to try this and it works great and has the length I wanted.
Don't really see any gains over hdmi but supposedly this has less work on monitor
