5 out of 5 eggsNice Fanout Cable

Pros: Very durable construction

Sleeving is quite nice

Cons: Very pricy compared to normal SATA 3 cables. I sure hope SAS cables will come down in price soon.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if the cardboard box is really needed as packaging for this cable, but it's a nice touch.

The USB looking cable isn't a USB header, it's a LED indicator for those with the chassis that has this feature. For those with normal cases, just tuck away this extra header.

Used with a LSI MegaRAID card and four 4 TB Western Digital Red Drives.

5 out of 5 eggsGood cable for lenght

Pros: -Good cable, good length, nice locking tabs
-Decent length, will fit most cases without issue.
-limited lifetime warranty

Cons: -price, hopefully comes down to under $10 soon, the price of 4 standard Sata cables is less than $5, way do these still cost so much?

Other Thoughts: -for those who are wondering the extra cable that looks like it is for a USB plug on the mother board is really for Activity LED lights, some cases have a separate plug to be used to light the individual lights up

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: No major problems, connects areca areca ARC-1882I PCI-Express 2.0 raid card to supermicro server sas/sata backplane. Cable includes side band cable which the back plane supports for monitoring everything.

Cons: Not sure if it is me, but once I plugged into the card I was unable to unplug it. No big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Works as expected

Cons: Extra connector? See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: There is a usb motherboard style connector on the cable. I have NOT A CLUE what this connector is for, the cable works perfectly with this connector attached to nothing, i just have it tucked away in my case... Comes with no documentation, which is fine, but im REALLY curious why this usb connector is on the cable at all... Is it for software monitoring? Is it for boost speed performance? Is it to make me look lime a raving lunitic or moron? I havnt a clue! But the cable DOES work as expected in boot up utility and windows 7 x64 (havnt tried anything else) and i do get full sata3 speeds from it (300 MB/s synthetic benchmarks, about 225 MB/s real life sceenarios) on my adaptec 6805

5 out of 5 eggsNice Cables!

Pros: Very well shielded
Locking clips for all main connectors
Long cables more than sufficient for full-tower cases
'Reasonable' price compared to some others

Cons: The SATA breakouts feel a little flimsy, but are very well shielded

Other Thoughts: The cables are decently sturdy, though I'd question longevity of the individual SATA lines if they were moved frequently. While they are well-shielded, I feel they wouldn't survive a lot of moving around.

The locking clips for the SATA and SFF-8087 were a huge plus!

Combined with an Intel / LSI SASUC8I

So... What's the extra connector for?
