5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Standard 40-pin IDE to mini-IDE connector. Works exactly like it says. I used this to plug an old laptop hard drive into my desktop PC.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to not reverse the cable. Pin 1 goes to the stripe on the IDE cable. Pin "R" connects to the red power lead, and pin "B" connects to the black power lead.

1 out of 5 eggsjunk

Pros: if it worked it would be nice

Cons: well I could not get this thing work, no matter which of my rigs I hooked it up to it would not read the HDD or even see it. but I know the HDD works

Other Thoughts: I am not sure why it didnt work but for some reason the 2.5 hdd would not even show up in my bios. I know the ide cables and stuff were good because they were being used with other optical drivers.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked on fresh Phenom II build with an off the shelf 2.5" laptop drive.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Helps "recycle" some of those old 2.5" laptop drives into other systems.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple

Pros: This is an Extremely easy was to connect a 44pin old-school laptop HDD to standard 40pin IDE ribbon.
Quick! Just plug in the adapter and you're done.

Cons: Power supply connector, (two wire), could possibly slip off.

Other Thoughts: To prevent the power supply connector from slipping off, I simply secured it with a small piece of electrical tape. It's barely discernible.
