Just connect your laptop's 2.5in drive to this adapter, and connect the adapter to our USB 2.0 to IDE drive adapter (#30500). Then plug the USB to IDE adapter into an available USB port on your desktop.

Your 2.5in drive will appear as a logical drive, and allow you to pull files directly back and forth.

Works exactly like it says. I used this to plug an old laptop hard drive into my desktop PC. Cons: None so far. Other Thoughts: Be sure to not reverse the cable. Pin 1 goes to the stripe on the IDE cable. Pin "R" connects to the red power lead, and pin "B" connects to the black power lead. Did you find this review helpful? Quick! Just plug in the adapter and you're done. Cons: Power supply connector, (two wire), could possibly slip off. Other Thoughts: To prevent the power supply connector from slipping off, I simply secured it with a small piece of electrical tape.
