5 out of 5 eggsSimple

Pros: Plugged it into a Surface Pro to add it to a domain and it connected to the LAN in seconds. No driver needed for the Win8 - 64-bit on the Surface Pro.

Cons: A bit expensive but well worth it because of the ease of use (hence still 5 eggs).

4 out of 5 eggsUSB to Ethernet Adaptor

Pros: Once I found the correct driver it worked perfectly. No issues and is working in an industrail enviroment.

Cons: Package didn't come with cd, unless it was one of the mini cd's and I accidentally threw it away with the packaging, but then the cd was not put in a easily viewable location. The drivers were particularily hard to find on the website. You have to go to a different website, search for the product and then you will have two options. Turns out the option labeled windows XP 32-bit doesn't work on windows XP 32-bit and you have to download the file that is an *.exe to install the windows xp 32-bit file. If you just want the *.inf files you will have to install the *.exe and then go and fine the *.inf. I was using on a box that I really don't want any 3rd party software.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure it automatically installs if your able to connect to internet but I wasn't able to connect the computer to internet to search for drivers.

5 out of 5 eggsReplacement for failed MB adapter

Pros: Rugged packing; well documented; comes with installation CD and User Guide; simple and quick installation; displays three diode lights that give status and diagnostic information; provides method to determine if installation was successful.

Cons: A minor issue is the inconsistency between the manual and reality:
Manual states lights 1, 2, and 3 indicate respectively
•good connection (yellow light)
•connected to 100 Mb/sec network
•connected to 10 Mb/sec network

The reality is that
•the second light is labeled FULL/HALF and
•the third light is labeled 100M/10M

Other Thoughts: The adapter provides quality at low cost.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Simple install, works well. I was able to use this to recover a tablet pc with no ethernet port using Windows Home Server backups. Just load the drivers from the cd.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Wish it was a Gigabit connection

4 out of 5 eggsSecondary Ethernet Port

Pros: Easy to use and to setup, I use this to allow several laptops to access two networks without having to unplug and reconfigure the main Ethernet port.

Cons: If you don't plug it back in to the same port you have to reconfigure the IP settingds

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Works as advertised.

Win7 on two different Shuttle PC's.

Great for VMWARE Workstation and GNS3 studies.

ESXi does not recognize this however (it's not on the HCL anyway)

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: expensive but CtG stuff is value for the money.
