They establish a stand-off for right or left angled power plugs. Worth the price at the time $3.95. Cons: None, but the price is a bit steep. Sturdy. Cons: Could be even shorter (e.g. 6"). Other Thoughts: If you need to plug in a power brick where there is only room for a standard 3-prong plug, then you NEED this.
