This right angled SATA cable features a standard (straight) female Serial ATA connector as well as a right-angled (female) SATA connector, providing a simple 18in connection to a Serial ATA drive even if space near the drive's SATA port is limited.

Once the right-angled SATA connector has been inserted into the drive's SATA data port, the shaft of the cable is seated flush with the rear panel of the drive, eliminating the clutter of excess cable at the connection point - an ideal solution for small or micro form factor computer cases.

The right angled SATA cable features a thin, narrow construction that helps to improve airflow within the computer case; the cable also features a rugged, yet flexible design that makes it easy to make the SATA connection as needed. As an alternative, StarTech.com also offers an 18in Left Angle SATA cable (SATA18LA1), which offers the same simple installation as this right angled SATA cable, but allows the cable to be connected to the SATA drive from the opposite direction.

Cables come with little caps protecting the cable connectors on the ends. Cons: None Other Thoughts: I liked the nice individual packaging the cables came in. Each cable comes in a little Ziploc baggie with a sticker describing the cable and info on where to go for warranty information. I spent more than 12 hours on identifying the cause. I think this reflects a poor QA done by the manufacture. Cons: None, other than Newegg is out of stock as of this writing. Other Thoughts: Another brand of cables I also purchased fell apart. They were press fitted plastic construction and 2 out of 3 did not work. These StarTech work every time, are molded construction and snap in place without the need for the metal clip. It's connector end is STILL too thick compare to the SATA III connector that came with my Gigabyte mobo... Other Thoughts: wish they could make the connector slimmer. Although this isn't a huge issue for most people, but for mATX case people who SLI it could be between fitting and not fitting the graphics card if the mobo sata slots are near the graphics card. Had some issues fitting with a 2 bay 2.5" HDD bracked -Ummm... they're red? Other Thoughts: They're SATA cables and they're cheap. I needed a bunch for a file server build, and the price was right. Although SATA III is advertised I didn't really bother measuring speeds since I'm not really concerned with data throughput as they're for a file server build where read/write speeds aren't a big priority for me. Just make sure the right angle is not gonna block you from anything before you buy. Other Thoughts: Only gave it 4 eggs because I can't speak for transfer rate of up to 6 Gbps, but is definitely plenty fast for 3 Gpbs.
