The SATA18LA1 left angle SATA cable features a standard (straight) female Serial ATA connector as well as a left-angled (female) SATA connector, providing a simple 18-inch connection to a Serial ATA drive, even if space near the drive SATA port is limited.

Once the left-angled SATA connector has been inserted into the SATA data port on the drive, the shaft of the cable is seated flush with the rear panel of the drive, eliminating the clutter of excess cable at the connection point - an ideal solution for small or micro form factor computer cases.

The left angled SATA cable features a thin, narrow construction that helps to improve airflow within the computer case; the cable also features a rugged, yet flexible design that makes it easy to make the SATA connection as needed. As an alternative, StarTech.com also offers a 18in Right Angle SATA cable (SATA18RA1), which provides the same simple installation as this left angled SATA cable, but allows the cable to connect to the SATA drive from the opposite direction.

  • newegg Fast data transfer rate Compliant with Serial ATA III specifications, the StarTech SATA18LA1 provides fast data transfer rate of up to 6 Gbps and ensures maximum performance.
  • newegg Designed to improve system airflow and routability The left angled cable connector easily fits in hard to reach areas and tight space. And this 18-inch Serial ATA cable is thinner and more flexible to connect inside the system and improves airflow.

Pros: -Well-made
-Good length for most PC builds
-Angled connector is nice for cramped spaces
-Still work just fine after 2 years of use

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Does what it has to. No complaints here.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh quality cables

Pros: Cables attach securely. Great price. fast delivery.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Left angle connector directs the cable up from the sata connector on the back of the drive instead of down, like the right angle connectors do.

5 out of 5 eggswell made

Pros: Sata 3. Well made with molded connectors. They snap in place securely without metal clips.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Another brand of cables I also purchased fell apart. They were press fitted plastic construction and 2 out of 3 did not work. These StarTech work every time, are molded construction and snap in place without the need for the metal clip. If you value your disk drive and motherboard sata controller, these are proper cables.

5 out of 5 eggsgood cable

Pros: left angle SATA

allowed me to reclaim a SATA port that was covered over by my Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X on my micro-atx mobo.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Great for low profile applications such as SATA port that are partially covered over by large video cards.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: needed for my Msi FM2-A55M-E33 because im using a geforce 680( huge card) should work out perfectly so i can use all 4 sata ports, great for tight/small Mobo's. not to mention the 18 inchs makes things less worry some via cleanup of cords.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bought right angles ones before on accident blocking 2 of my sata ports DONT MAKE THIS MISTAKE, it hurts when you want to run multi harddrives or anything besides a HD and a Dvd drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for special needs

Pros: These are *awesome* for getting SATA cables connected in cramped places. These are left-angle, which means they're angled connection bends in the opposite direction as compared to most angled SATA cables. I needed these in order to use a few SATA ports that were hidden under my graphics card. These worked like a champ. Build quality is good too.

Cons: Nothing really. They're good cables.

Other Thoughts: Unless you specifically need left-angle cables, I would purchase right-angle cables. It's a bit hard to explain, but left-angle cables can actually be a pain in the rear end to use if you don't specifically need them. For example, if you have a hard disk in front of you label-side up, a 'normal' right-angle SATA cable will run down from the connector. A left-angle connector will run upwards.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Its a LEFT angle cable and works great on my Asus M3n78 PRO. I had 2 SATA ports covered by my 9800 GTX card... With 1 Right angle and 1 Left angle Sata cable, I was able to free both up.

Cons: Didnt cook me dinner, wish I ordered it sooner.

Other Thoughts: Asus M3N78 Pro
Phenom II x4 940

EVGA 9800 GTX+ <--------- Large card, do ur homework and make sure it will fit in ur case, and with ur other hardware.

Antec 900
4 Gigs (2x2) Gskill ram Running at 1066 (CPUid and bios checked)

3 out of 5 eggsdoes what its supposed to

Pros: its a SATA cable... it connects a sata drive to your motherboard... it's angled to the left instead of the right like most angled sata cables, which is what i needed due to my excessively long GPU blocking off my sata ports on my microatx mobo.

Cons: they just cables, cheap to make i'd assume. They dont light up, not UV reactive, they aren't amazingly long, and they dont even have the metal latches on them.. I think 9 a piece is pretty high for what these are. Another site sells them for exactly half the price... if i was ordering other stuff along with the cables, i would have just got them elsewhere

Other Thoughts: ordered 2 cables and some additional hdd accessories on a wednesday, went with 2 day shipping. cables went through on a separate order and shipped separately for some reason (but both from cali), and while the rest of the items arrived on friday, the cables didnt show up till monday... so the almost 15 extra for shipping was a total waste.
