5 out of 5 eggsYes, it actually works!

Pros: Completely plug-n-play on Windows 7

Recognized as a USB HID keyboard by the BIOS

No problems with dropped or repeating keystrokes

Keyboard LEDs work (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I don't imagine there's much market for this item any more, but for those of us geezers who still own one of the famous IBM/Lexmark Model M keyboards (mine is vintage 1993), this adapter is the only one I've found that works.

It comes in a cardboard box with no documentation at all, but if you need instructions, you shouldn't be using a computer.

2 out of 5 eggsOnly works half the time

Pros: Nice way to use older PS2 Keyboards if it would work.

Cons: Doesn't work all the time.

Other Thoughts: Be prepared to restart your computer several times a day.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This device allows a PS/2 device to be used on any usb computer or KVM switch. Works right out of the box.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you have an old PS/2 keyboard or mouse, you can use this device on any computer with usb ports. The passive PS/2 to USB converters sometimes will not work. On my Trendnet TK-209K KVM switch I can use either a keyboard or the mouse but not both. This is not a problem because I use a wireless USB mouse.

2 out of 5 eggs97% accurate

Pros: 97 out of 100 keystrokes are correct!

Cons: only 97 out of 100 keystrokes are correct! It either misses them or types out the last key endlessssssssssssly until you hit another.

Other Thoughts: Going shopping for another. Should have go for the x-keys one. Duh!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with games

Pros: -Auto installed drivers for Windows 7
-ps2 keyboards are hot-swappable
-works for gaming - multiple key combos

Cons: -older 1988 ps2 keyboard didn't work, num lock light blinked for a second, maybe it requires more power?

-some keyboard combos may be KB dependent
--belkin ps2 kb (arrow keys + space) didn't work
--logitech ps2 kb (arrow keys + space) worked

5 out of 5 eggsIt Works!

Pros: After literally trying a box of varieties, this puppy worked with my mish mash 4-way KVM set up with mostly PS/2 connections. My uber expensive ASUS P9X79 Deluxe motherboard decided PS/2 connections for the mouse/keyboard are history; no doubt the wisdom of some 20-year old marketing types. This KVM hangup deal was the one blemish on an otherwise very complicated build. Thanks StarTech for making what we need, not what Marketing wants to sell. Your 67-year old geek friend.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: StarTech and Newegg rule.

5 out of 5 eggsAdapter adapts wonderfully!

Pros: After reading all the reviews of the cheaper adapters, I decided not to waste any time or money on the cheap route. This adapter does exactly what is says. The construction quality appears solid as well.

As a gamer, I was worried about some of the reviews that mentioned dropping keystrokes if long pressing keys. I had *zero* issues with this. So...if you're a gamer with an older keyboard that you love and a newer MoBo that doesn't support PS/2...get this item! You won't be disappointed.

Cons: None noted.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Recognized by BIOS

Pros: It works with my old Keytronic PS2 keyboard, which is why I bought it for use with my new PS2-less computer.
No problems with gaming or repeating keys.

Cons: Not recognized by BIOS, but it may be just my machine.

Other Thoughts: Works fine in both Windows and Linux, however, it's not recognized at the BIOS level, at least not in time to enter BIOS setup or specify a boot option. This is a big downer for me because I'm always reloading OSes and booting off of thumb drives.
