4 out of 5 eggsWorks like it's supposed to

Pros: Easy to connect. Instructions are good. Works well.

Cons: AFter installing the software received a message that was not in the instructions. There is no phone number to call, but the chat worked very well.

2 out of 5 eggsdispleased

Pros: It does what it says.

Cons: There are several graphics cards that will do a lot better for a lot less price.

Other Thoughts: I tried this as alternative to multiple videocards in a project that involved displaying webcam feeds on to 4 monitors. It would do it, but very slowly and I kept having software issues with the resolutions.

This is only meant as a second monitor attachment for laptops using text applications - and that is all it is good for.

5 out of 5 eggsworks fine

Pros: Used this to add a second monitor to a national instruments pxi controller running xp pro. Used only for program development, debugging, browsing, etc while the other display was running the app.

Cons: Probably a driver issue - the second monitor is not enabled on a reboot. When shuting down or rebooting one should click on the usb disconnect device icon then pull the cable out of the USB port. Put it back in (the same slot) after the system has rebooted. If you dont put it back in the same slot it will 'find" new device and reinstall stuff but will still work ok. I have seen this exact problem with many other devices so it is probably Micro$ofts fault.

4 out of 5 eggsGood analog display for a notebook

Pros: Works well to get a notebook with a relatively low-res video card to display on a large screen/large monitor.

Cons: Would like to see a higher max res at 32 bit color, and possibly even higher resolutions even at 16 bit.

Other Thoughts: A good way to use this is to create a new hardware profile and disable the notebook's display adapter in it. Then at boot you can choose to boot with the hardware profile with the USB2VGA2 installed and the low-res notebook display disabled, allowing you to boot up with the higher resolution display instead of having to go into the Display Settings tab every time you want to use the higher resolution display.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: I bought this device after I set up an SLI system so I could still use my second monitor. (Using SLI mode disables my video cards' native secondary monitor support.) It works for my purposes--I just use the second monitor to show text and simple graphics. I needed a USB video card that supported a 1600x1200 resolution monitor, and this one does it.

Cons: The device doesn't support Vista's "Aero" glass desktop theme. Vista therefore disables Aero entirely while the device is in use. I miss my pretty desktop! Movies are only supported for the "Classic" version of Windows Media Player.

Other Thoughts: Note that you MUST, I repeat MUST install the drivers for the device before you plug the device into a USB port. It will not work AT ALL if you plug the device in first and then install the drivers.
