1 out of 5 eggsThese can ruin your graphics card!

This review is from: StarTech Model DISPLPORT6L 6 ft. DisplayPort Cable M-M

Pros: -None. Would give 0 eggs if I could

Cons: BE WARNED. These are NOT VESA-Certified cables. These cables can ruin your graphics card by feeding extraneous power into your card. Even without this risk, these cables cause various bugs such as a "No input error" bug or even BSODs due to the extra fed power from the extra 20-pin that SHOULD NOT be connected. Would recommend any Accell cables, which are VESA-Certified and do not have the above described bugs or risk.

Other Thoughts: These cables, and other cables like them are the cause for many issues that Nvidia 980 GTX users are experiencing. Took me a while to research what the problem was but I finally found it.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Pleased

This review is from: StarTech Model DISPLPORT6L 6 ft. DisplayPort Cable M-M

Pros: -Strong plug latch

Cons: -Weird no input errors

Other Thoughts: -Too often when exiting out of a PC game, or 3DMark, Valley, Heaven benchmarks, the screen would go entirely black and "No Input Detected" would appear on my ASUS VG248QE with G-Sync mod. The only way to correct the problem was to turn the monitor off, unplug cable, reconnect, turn monitor back on. After getting tired of this, i swtiched to the included displayport cable that came with the G-Sync kit and have not had this problem since.

Do not buy in my opinion.

1 out of 5 eggsSends power through pin 20

This review is from: StarTech Model DISPLPORT6L 6 ft. DisplayPort Cable M-M

Pros: None.

Cons: This cable violates the DP standards by senbding power through pin 20, this results in some system being unable to boot with it connected and can cause damage. Avoid this like a plague.

5 out of 5 eggsCable works

This review is from: StarTech Model DISPLPORT6L 6 ft. DisplayPort Cable M-M

Pros: Functionality for full size DP 1.2 male to male. Available in various lengths according to what you need. Massive visual quality upgrade in my LG 29" monitor from a cheap DVI cable I was using before I got this.

Cons: Possible quality issues, cable feels somewhat light compared to a similar price/quality HDMI cable. BUT, I had no issues with this cable

Other Thoughts: This cable is just what I needed. My new monitor has full size DP 1.2 as well as HDMI and DVI. I wanted to use this function and have this cable available for future situations. I am using an LG 29" @ 2560x1080@60Hz

The connector ends don't feel like they can take much twisting and pressure in either direction once they are plugged in. I would advise not putting any pressure on the connector ends once plugged in. This is possibly how people are breaking the ends off in their devices(monitors/TVs/PCs pushed up against a wall or other cords tugging on it). My cable plugged in easy, but firmly and has plenty of room behind/around it to prevent any disasters. I have a Mini DP on my Radeon GPU which I used one of the free Full to Mini adapters that came with my GPU to plug one end of the full size into my GPU. There are most certainly better quality cables out there, but I am VERY happy with this cable considering I had been using a cheap DVI cable before hand.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the trick

This review is from: StarTech Model DISPLPORT6L 6 ft. DisplayPort Cable M-M

Pros: Solid build. It doesn't feel weak and flimsy. Yet it is still flexible.

Supports the 144Hz refresh rate that my ASUS VG248QE puts out.

Reasonable price for the length.

Cons: You can't use it to tow a car.
