5 out of 5 eggsGreat adapter

Pros: Adapts a 6 pin PCIe power connector from the power supply to a graphics card that requires an 8 pin PCIe connection. Simply plug it in and go.

Cons: If I had to name a con, the wires used to jumper the ground connections over to the two extra pins are a little on the thin side (20 gauge as opposed to 18 gauge for the other wires in this connector as well as the wires coming from my Corsair power supply).

Other Thoughts: This adapter works perfectly with no issues whatsoever. I am using it to power an XFX Radeon HD 7950 that requires a 6 pin and 8 pin connection with an older power supply that only has 6 pin PCIe outputs. The owners manuals from many cards say not to use an adapter like this, but this adapter is built exactly the same way as the 6+2 pin connector found on many high end modern power supplies.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple and Works.

Pros: I received the 6pin to 8pin last night and was able to install it into the Radeon HD6970 that I had purchased and apparently threw the 8pin away at some point. Overall, it installed perfectly and everything is working.

Solid design, and clicks right into place.

Cons: The only gripe I have (and it's a really small one) is that the cable is really stiff. It took some fandangling to get it into a good curve.

5 out of 5 eggsJust an adapter

Pros: Well made good quality but still is just an adapter probably cost around a buck. thou saves you from upgrading to power supply with 8 pin pci ex. for $100 or more.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Still same just way to much money.

4 out of 5 eggsNot What You Need !!!

Pros: NewEgg got it to me fast, and there was nothing wrong with the cable.

Cons: Me not doing my home work.

Other Thoughts: I was trying to use this to adapt a 9800GX2 to my power supply ( Antec 650w ) what I did not know was that the 8 pin connector on the card draws 120w of power by itself which is more power then you can force through a 6 pin power cable, so it would work right until i tried opening a game then it would black screen because it was not getting the power that it needed to run the 3D part of the card. Got a different power adapter ( 2x4 pin into a 8 pin ) and now she works just fine.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Works as advertised. Very convenient.

Cons: Way too expensive for what it is. It consists of two simple connectors and 8 short pieces of wire and the total cost is over $15 shipped.

Minus an egg because of price.

Other Thoughts: After seeing it up close I could have EASILY made one myself. It's just a 6-wire with two grounds jumpered to the right pins.
