5 out of 5 eggsNice Adapter

Pros: small, lightweight, easy to use

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Used this adapter for mounting a 1.8" SSD in my desktop PC. I almost found out too late that my drive needed an adapter and was built with Micro SATA connectors. The pics of the drive caught my eye that the power adapters didn't have the classic L-shaped female SATA connectors and I started researching.

This adapter is easy to manage, was light on the pocketbook and on the build (cable management) and overall am very pleased. I always come to NewEgg for these little hard-to-find parts that you don't know you will need until it's almost too late. They always are reasonable or free for shipping and reliable with good packaging.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product, Bad Shipping

Pros: Cables is just as described. Works great to use a micro sata drive in a standard (desktop) setup

Cons: It's shorter than desired, but it works.

Other Thoughts: Beware accepting Newegg standard shipping. It took 8 days to get from MS to NM. Same with some software ordered. The worst was a cable that could have been sent in an envelope came packed in a box big enough for 6 hard drives.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked great

Pros: Does exactly what it says. I plugged it directly into my Sata on my mother board and into a power source. I had no issues with the cord.

Cons: The cord is a little short.

4 out of 5 eggsNOT a DOA drive, but this adapter!!!!!

Pros: Works

Cons: Had to call Crucial to figure this thing out.....

Other Thoughts: MUST be plugged into an actual SATA power plug for certain drives to work. A molex to SATA plug will not provide the 3.3v required by some SSD drives to operate.

5 out of 5 eggsGets the Job done

Pros: This adapter was purchased to get data off of a Samsung 256GB 1.8" SSD. Once the adapter was plugged into a desktop mobo, the PC booted up and recognized the SSD as a secondary drive right away.

Cons: The adapter did not work with a sata-to-usb adapter but this was expected. Although i would have liked to daisy chain the adapters instead of opening up a PC and using a SATA slot on the mobo, I feel that this is not the micro sata adapter's fault.

Other Thoughts: This is one of those items that was needed urgently once and will probably never be needed again. Its nice to know its there though.

4 out of 5 eggsMicroSATA adapter

Pros: Works for 1.8 drive
One connection for power and data

Cons: Only available in SSD II
That I even needed it at all, obviously not the fault of star tech.

Other Thoughts: With my 1.8" 128Gb crucial SSD, I am getting read speeds of 318.41, write 131.64. Can't complain. My velociraptor has been demoted to a data drive.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as Advertised

Pros: It works like it's supposed to. ^_^

Cons: Not much I can think of...Maybe a little on the short side for the price?

Other Thoughts: Bought this to troubleshoot a 1.8" SATA SSD that was having problems.
