5 out of 5 eggsPerfect adapter

Pros: Compact design, well made. Really the only option worth looking at when you use a slimline drive

4 out of 5 eggsSays what it does, does what it says

Pros: Purchased for my HTPC - literally plug it in and go.

Cons: Minus one egg because it came with a broken piece of plastic on the outside of one of the non-slimline side connectors. These pieces of plastic are pretty much cosmetic (the tabs on the outside of each of the connectors- nothing actually touches them when plugged in), just a downer to get something new that you paid full price for that is technically broken....

5 out of 5 eggsGood adapter

Pros: Works

Cons: A little too big for my use - see below.

Other Thoughts: Some times I hate Dell. The optical drive in my mom's sff Dell went out. I picked up a slim SATA drive here on NewEgg and thought that would do it. But no, Dell used some kind of small connector that I think I've seen on really old laptops. Had to buy one of these, switch to SATA, and use a 4-pin to SATA adapter to make it work.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but the Akasa adapter is better

Pros: Allows connection of slim DVD drives to normal SATA cables and SATA power. Simple and cheap.

Cons: Takes up more space than the Akasa equivalent (but this one takes a SATA power connector, and that one has an integrated 4-pin molex connector; what works for you might be different than what works for me).

Other Thoughts: This adapter is handy if you are not terribly cramped for space behind your optical drive and prefer to use SATA power connection. But usually people using a slim DVD case *are* cramped for space, so I like the Akasa adapter just a bit better, as that one includes an integrated SATA cable and 4-pin molex connector hard-wired to the adapter. That takes less space and is a little more flexible, but of course requires you to use a molex power cable from your PSU, if you don't already have one connected.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great... didn't actually need it

Pros: Got it to put into a custom HTPC for the DVD drive... turns out my case was really small (an NES) and the DVD drive made it overheat due to lack of airflow.

Cons: Nothing wiht the product.

Other Thoughts: Product is great.

5 out of 5 eggssata to micro sata

Pros: simple item just plug it in and your done , cheap , we always need adapter for one thing or the other and if you need micro sata to sata adapter this does a good job

Cons: latch/lock would be nice

Other Thoughts: it does move around easy in the case so you have to double check it before you close it up , other feedback was concerned about it falling out or discounting and a locking latch would have been nice but it seems to be working fine for me

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the trick

Pros: Does exactly what it is supposed to. I had plenty of room but if you dont have space between your front slots and your components it could be an issue. Rocking a laptop Blueray in my pc now!

Cons: none for me

4 out of 5 eggsNo Need to Get Slimline Cable

Pros: Great adapter. This allows you to use your standard SATA Power and Cable on a slimline drive. I used this for an optical drive in my SG05 Mini ITX Build.

Cons: I gave it four stars because the first one broke so I had to get a replacement. Also, the price is much higher here (rare) than other places. I found it for $5 elsewhere but purchased it here since there was free shipping.

Other Thoughts: Overall very happy with the purchase. Does not take away from overall look of wiring inside case. Works great.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and clean!

Pros: It's THE adapter to have. No rainbow wiring that resembles Duct Tape IMO. Put this in your Slim drive and connect to it with regular standard parts. As iTX and most of them asking for slim drives slowly grows, I'm buying more and more of these.

Cons: For my case (Antec ISK-150), it's juuuust short enough to work.

Other Thoughts: It's S/ATA I spec more than likely. I've never had a need for this on anything but on Slim-DVD/BluRay burners, but when compared to a full sized drive on S/ATA II at 8x...it's a bit tame. More than likely the Slim-burners, but maybe not. I'd need to see this on an 2.5" HDD to have a real comparison.

It's a solid connector surrounded by rubber. In my build I had to shave off some rubber down to the dark gray plastic for a perfect alignment. Not a con at all as my case is to blame. But when space is an issue, the rubber surround is just in the way.

Anyway, no ugly rainbow contraptions.
